From DAVIDsTEA

Sip back and relax

Whatever life throws our way, we can always find comfort in a great cup of tea. Especially when it’s scented with dreamy, night-blooming jasmine. Itsdelicate, floral aroma is as relaxing as it gets – like aromatherapy in a cup. First created during China’s Song Dynasty, jasmine tea has been improving moods, relieving stress and just making people happy for over 1000 years. In this oh-so soothing blend, we mix jasmine green tea with sweet blackberries and pretty cornflower blossoms. It’s the perfect little escape.

(DavidsTea 66)

This is actually quite nice with blackberries and jasmine. Light flavour. A better green base would make this fantastic, but as is, it’s just good (age could be a factor, but I have nothing fresher to compare against). I’ll enjoy the last of this.

Came across a small unopened sample of this while shuffling and organizing things and thought I’d go with the green trend of the past few days. Especially because a moment of zen. Yeah, I could use a moment of zen right now. Maybe more than a moment.

Pretty tea. Enjoyable tea. I didn’t read the ingredients or reviews before I sipped my first cup. Creamy mild berry on a gentle green. I could drink this on the regular.

The jasmine was missing for me. Perhaps I will be able to detect it now that I know that it is supposed to be there.

Cold brewed 2 tsp in 300 mL water for 10 minutes. The green base wouldn’t be my first choice-I would have gone with a white or unroasted oolong. It isn’t overly offputting, I just don’t find the flavour very appealing. It tastes of a typical green tea-slightly vegetal, maybe slightly sweet, grassy, pretty typical sencha flavour.

I’m not getting very much jasmine, but I do like the blackberry/fruit flavours. I can taste blackberry distinctly, and it brings the sweet fruit flavour that I was looking for in a cold brew this morning. It tastes like blackberry jam, green tea, maybe a tiny hint of something floral.

Cold brewing for only 10 minutes sounds too short.

Arby

With 300 mL water I don’t feel it was too short. The brew was plenty colourful, so I feel like it should be full-flavoured. I did do a few other steeps with longer steep times also, but I never got any jasmine. It might be that I was too focused on the delicious blackberry.

Day 20 of the 2015 Advent Calender (Only 1 tea left!). A jasmine tea with blackberry? Sign me up! The dry leaf smell is… very much green tea. I was hoping for more jasmine and blackberry but that might change in the actual steeped tea.

Steeped, the tea definitely smells a lot fruitier, which is quite nice. The taste is very delicate, the most dominant flavor is the green tea base, followed by some blackberry at the end. Sadly I’m not really getting the jasmine, but I am still very much enjoying this tea.

I hope that David’s brings this back sometime because this is a really nice green tea in my opinion, and I’d love to try it over ice sometime.

I’m not a big jasmine fan on its own but this blend with blackberries is delicious. It’s a good combination, and I stocked up when I realized it was being retired. It’s floral, but also nice and sweet.

I found Moment of Zen to be an interesting green tea. I liked the combination of jasmine, blossoms, and blackberry. It had a delicious smell that reminded me of light florals.

The taste was also interesting. You could taste the green tea with jasmine and it had a slight blackberry aftertaste. I’m a huge blackberry fan so I wouldn’t have minded if the blackberry taste was more prominent. It also wasn’t bitter or overly sweet either. I have to say I did find this to be a pleasant cup of tea, and enjoyed the jasmine/blackberry combination.

I’m a big fan of jasmine teas and my fiance is a big fan of berry flavors, so this was one we definitely had to try. The jasmine flavor is a bit weak for my preferences, with most of the flavor coming from the berries. The berry flavor itself was natural tasting and not too overpowering. I would definitely describe this as a berry tea with hints of jasmine rather than the other way around, so you should take that into account when considering it!

Day 20/24 of the advent calendar. Hmmm. I’m getting a strong blueberry flavor and a hint of Jasmine. Eh, it’s alright. Not really a fan but it’s drinkable.

This one kind of reminds me of Grape Expectations – must be the fruit flavour, I guess. I do like this, just not as much as the grape, haha. And I am not getting as much jasmine as I thought there would be, which is also kind of a let down. Maybe I will try this one again later iced, to see if I change my rating.

I’m a big green tea fan, and whenever DAVID’s introduces a new green tea it always piques my interest. I was a bit skeptical of this tea, but decided to purchase 10 grams of it to give it a try.

The smell of the dry leaves (+ the brewed tea) is very strong of berry. I made it by steeping the leaves in 175 degree F water for about 2.5 min. Tasting the tea, it reminds me a lot of Elderflower Spritz. The only difference is this tea has a stronger berry flavor, with a jasmine green tea following instead of a floral white tea.

Personally, I don’t care for fruity green teas: it masks the flavour of the tea too much. Usually I go for a plain green, with a few exceptions for lighter flavours (such as jasmine, bergamot, and mild citrus- on a rare occasion I might even mix in mint or ginger). So with that being said, I’m glad I only bought 10 grams of this. I’m sure this would be better iced, which I might do to use it up, but overall I prefer my iced teas to be caffiene free.
