Ascot Choice caught my eye because I was intrigued by the idea of a tea with passion fruit blossoms. It’s an extremely nice combination, but the one thing I would change about it would be to make the black tea flavour a bit stronger. However, if you let it sit for a really long time, as I tend to do, then you get a nice hit of passion fruit.

This tea is one of my favourites. I got it at the Twinings shop in London, and I like to drink it in the afternoon with my lunch. The flavour is very reminiscent of those after dinner mints I used to enjoy as a child on those rare occasions when we would go out to dinner. Also, the box smells of sweets, which makes me happy.

I actually bought this tea as a possible substitute for my beloved Original Blend, which I am almost out of. It has that strong character that I associate with Irish Breakfast tea, but I find that it doesn’t give me as much of a kick as the Original Blend.

When I have had a late night and have to wake up early the next morning, this is the tea that I turn to. It never fails to wake me up, and I’m particularly fond of the Assam-Kenyan-Rwandan tea combination. I just wish it were easier to find in the UK.

This tea was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to say that it does not disappoint. I like my tea really strong, so I leave it for as long as possible, but if you don’t like your tea to be as punchy as I do, then don’t leave it as long. It has a very malty character, which I appreciate when I can’t wake up in the morning.

Boiling 8 min or more

When I’m not listening to the Beatles, I enjoy cooking, shopping, drinking lots of tea, taking photographs of weird looking buildings, and crocheting.
