Thank you Scheherazade for this sample. You included two tea bags which is enough for both me and my husband to try. :) He says “Thank You”.

Once steeped it has a strong mint scent with a creamy undertone. Strong yet sweet and rather fresh smelling (especially for a teabag). I did notice the teabag as to be expected contained finely chopped blend so I believe that this tea could be steeped for less time if you would prefer a light mint tea.

Flavour is strong and minty, enough to give a refreshing tingle upon my tongue. Immediately after I swallowed the vanilla came through to tone down the mint and leave a creamy, sweet after taste. It tastes like creamy mint caramel sweets I used to buy as a child. Only mildly so, really the vanilla is very subtle compared to the mint. Still it’s a very nice and simple blend, not sure it should be called butter though especially, mint cream would have been my suggestion.

I would buy this tea again to keep in my cupboard for stomach upsets.

I really liked this – it has a wonderful smell whilst brewing and tastes just like something out of a bag of boiled mint sweets!

I actually think this is far and away the best of the Twinings Sensations range. It’s the one that tastes most like it promises, and no hibiscus in sight! There’s a bonus if ever there was one. Mint and vanilla is a good combination, though — the flavours complement each other perfectly. It really does taste like a butter mint, and I think it would be great iced. One to remember for the summer.

The bag is primarily chopped mint leaves, and it heralds a very dark brown, murky liquor, as bagged mint teas generally do. There’s enough vanilla to add a wonderful creamy sweetness, though, and it actually makes a pretty perfect winter tea. This is possibly one of the few bagged teas I’d consider keeping around. Definitely worth a try.

I think I prefer the traditional mint better, though this one is not bad.

Yum. Butter mints are one of those candies I can eat a full bag of and not realize I’ve done so until I’m down to cellophane.

Rheya

I like butter mints since childhood =V= .So maybe I should give it another try, adding some sugar/honey,thanks~

Tasty herbal. I’ve been venturing into herbal bagged teas actually and finding many to be quite good.

I’ve never tried this tea’s namesake before, the buttermint, but I imagine this is exactly what the lolly tastes like. The mint makes it super soothing, but there is a warming vanilla-butterscotch flavour that cuts through the menthol and gives a touch of sweetness that makes it feel a little naughty. It’s a big old cup of comfort – I like this tea a lot.

Bathdown (135)!

Normally I go for green tea baths, but this was just so tempting that I had to do it.

One of the best bath experiences I’ve ever had, honestly. The smell was just absolutely divine, but then the light tingly sensation of the mint all over my skin made me feel like I was on fire but in the most peaceful, relaxing way humanly possible. Oh Lord I want to experience that again…

My boyfriend thinks I’m absolutely insane though. He just needs to experience it himself, honestly…

How do you prep for baths? Do you make a strong brew and pour it in or what exactly?

sundaysipping

Tea baths in general are a genius idea.

Roswell Strange

@Evol I feel like that’s what I’d do if I was gonna use loose leaf but typically I use up my bagged teas this way so I just let the tea bags hang out in the bath as it’s drawing and infuse directly in that way. I use two to four teabags typically; it doesn’t actually take a lot to make the bath water strong though.

Evol Ving Ness

Thank you! I agree with sundaysipping: genius idea.

VariaTEA

How many teabags do you use for the bath?

VariaTEA

Never mind…just saw above.

Fjellrev

Totally not insane. I’ve been doing this for over a decade and I agree, it’s awesome.

Mookit

If I had a bigger bathtub, I would probably try this too. That being said, I can’t even straighten my legs in mine… more of a showers-only-tub.

Thank you MissB for sharing this tea and Sil for passing it along. You both are awesome! And so is this tea. It has a nice, smooth mint flavor that is beautifully coupled with a buttery creaminess. It perfectly captures the flavor of a butter mint. Plus, the two flavors combined are creating a caramel-like sweetness which is making for quite the treat this afternoon.

I love this tea. I like a mug of mint tea in the evening or sometimes to settle nausea. Supermarket didn’t have my usual favourite, Teapigs Peppermint, so I picked this up instead. This brew tastes just like butter mints – those creamy, minty hard-boiled sweets. Sweet mint and a little vanilla gives this tea a creamy mouthfeel and perfect balance between cooling menthol and gentle sweetness. I think this is the most satisfying Twinings Sensation variety I’ve tried, simply because it tastes the closest to it’s purported flavour. I like my mint tea quite strong so I leave the bag in while I drink – this one doesn’t go bitter.

Got a sample teabag in a mothers day gift from work (they’re big on all ladies getting mothers day stuff and all gents getting fathers day stuff… but weird, but whatever, it means my cat doesn’t need to buy me anything).

I was pleased and surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Creamy mint. Good job, twinings. Maybe I don’t need to long for DAVIDsTEA’s white chocolate frost after all. You might do…

This tea is one of my favourites. I got it at the Twinings shop in London, and I like to drink it in the afternoon with my lunch. The flavour is very reminiscent of those after dinner mints I used to enjoy as a child on those rare occasions when we would go out to dinner. Also, the box smells of sweets, which makes me happy.
