66 Tasting Notes
My cousin gave me sample of this tea and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a very sweet smelling tea that has a buttery taste and a subtle sweetness to it. I did three steepings of this tea and by the third, the tea definitely transformed so it lingers on my tongue longer. I need to buy some more…
So the ones you recommend are bolder, more to your liking? I’ve been avoiding my teas bc I’ve needed to find my water filters, and finally I’ll be posting reviews today! I’ve got a new Harney order that’s been waiting for me.:)) They have a Blue Lavender that I had to try. I really got it bc you said sometimes lavender can be soapy….right? Well, I just had to see if I could understand what you meant. Plus, that lavender tea on their site looked so good. The first tea from my H & S order reviewed will be Hao Ya B……..look for it. :))
I’m a little sick today so I decided to break into my pu’erh and was quite happy at the slight smokiness and earth tones in this tea. I’m sure there are better Pu’erh out there but I’m quite enjoying this blend.
Preparation
Finally digging into the Oolong that I got from my Select membership. I warmed up my tea cup and also did a quick brew before dumping it. I left my tea at the bottom of my cup cause I wanted to watch it grow and I’m super happy with the tea. I didn’t add too many tea leaves to my cup so it’s pretty subtle but I like the soft roasted hints and the slight sweet tones. I think I need to add more tea leaves to get that smoky flavor.
It’s always hard to score these teas! I just move it somewhere that seems sort of positive and apparently, it’s semi-low. Odd. But I agree, it deserves a bit higher of a score than the one I gave it. I’m just a rookie when it comes to scoring.
