294 Tasting Notes
Long time my friends. I am treating myself this afternoon with this wonderful nectar. The effects are almost immediate upon ingestion. An energy is felt in the brow and around the eyes. My mindset is calm yet incredibly vigorous. This is what great tea is all about. It is raining outside but this tea provides warm, glowing sunshine. Sublime tea.
This is a very convenient way to brew. When I am not using my Yixing or Gaiwan or Tetsubin there is nothing better. An absolute pleasure to use.

First of all I want to thank Nicholas for this generous offering. Secondly please accept my apology for being so late in reviewing it. This is the autumn selection of the 2012 Yiwu. And I again I apologize for adding it on here. Quite frankly, if you blindfolded me and told me it was the spring harvest I would agree. The dried leaves are beautiful and I can see this is a superior tea. My first steeping yields a beautiful, fruity nectar with a wonderful mouthfeel. The next steeping I allow it more time to in Yixing to see where it goes. I still have the fruitiness but with an intensity that goes to my brow and chest. I am going to stop here because it is the afternoon here and I can see this tea ruining my day in a very wonderful way. I will let it ruin my night when I am able to sit and ponder life and all its beauty….

Quite frankly my dear friends I should not be drinking something I cannot afford. My love of sheng know no bounds and I had to at least try it. I probably used around 5 grams and the resulting liquor was pale and sweet very light. Do not let this tea fool you. After one tiny cup I went outside and tended to a tiny Korean Fir bonsai that has not been doing well. I was with it for maybe 30 minutes when I realized it was as if time was standing still. This tea was very mild in terms of flavor but it was knocking me to the ground in chaqi department. The body becomes very relaxed. When I returned to the tea I knew to go slow and really enjoy this incredible gem. The pale liquor was now a brilliant yellow-gold and the sweetness intensified. This tea truly creeps up on you in flavor and in its intensity. I started this session yesterday and I am drinking this as I write. Words cannot do it justice. At nearly 300 USD for a cake its by far the most expensive I have ever had. It is truly a magnificen tea. I love the way it makes me feel. I can only imagine buying this and aging it.

This was the last tea I tried from my recent order from Bannacha. I somehow did not expect much from it. Man was I surprised! I brewed this and removed the gaiwan lid and I was blown away by the aroma. Just as beautiful as the aroma was the sweet liquor that brought a smile to my face. This is an absolutely gorgeous tea! I ordered samples of this and the Autumn 2012 Lao Man E, a 2012 Autumn Xiao Yang Chun, and a larger sample of the 2012 Gu Yun. These will all be purchased in cake form and I can recommend them all without hesitation.
Hi everyone! Todays morning brew is an inexpensive offering from YS. I recently ordered from their China site in order to obtain some items that were only available there. Mainly to try the highly acclaimed 2010 Hai Lang Hao “Cha Wang”. For the price this Mang Fei is a bargain. I think its 30 dollars. The intial steepings were strong and smoky but as the session progressed the teas strength and potency revealed a beautiful flavor with a returning sweetness and a penetrating cha qi. This was a winner. I believe with aging this has the potential for greatness. For me, I really enjoy the intensity and raw energy of a young sheng.
I just ordered some of the “Cha Wang.” I can’t wait to try it.

Quite frankly I knew I was in for a special tea. The dried leaves are the longest I have ever seen. The initial steepings presented an intense mouth feel and flavors that I can never describe. The later steepings became more subdued but still beyond interesting nonetheless. I have totally fallen for the world of Sheng. Beyond the flavor and aroma profiles you are dealing with teas which are mind blowing. Teas that take your mind and body to places you have never been before. To say I highly recommend this tea would be an understatement.

Although still new in this area, I also find sheng quite alluring, not to mention mind-blowing, 3rd eye opening, etc.
It’s a tea that I have to reserve for its own time, & sometimes I look at all of the shengs out there, wanting to try a new one. Mostly I’m relying on reviews of others to make my selections, so thanks Charles! This one sounds interesting!

This is another tea I brought for the evacuation from Hurricane Sandy. I brought samples sizes to enjoy and to provide me with peace of mind during this difficult time. I now know that my neighborhood was spared. I live a block from Marven Gardens in Margate, New Jersey. It’s on the same island as Atlantic City. Sorry to ramble about the storm. This Dragon Well is absolutely delicious. Very green like evergreens in a cool mountaintop. As with all fine tea it has given me contentment. It’s very comforting to the soul. Content to deal with utter devastation in my native state. PS, Angel can I get an extension on the coupon code??
I had to evacuate my home yesterday. One never knows what a hurricane may do. I decided to bring this along if things get bad. The center of the storm is coming soon and already there is flooding of historical proportions. The first few sips are tingling my tongue and throat. An immediate warmth is felt upon my whole body. After sipping, I sigh. What a lovely tea. My pores feel as if they are all open and breathing in this intense tea. My mouth is wet and the tea flavor continues to linger. There are moments in ones life when certain teas help one cope with certain situations. This is when one turns to Sheng.
