Wow, really what more can I say about this one? Well, I’ll try to say something!

I ordered this on a hunch I would like it just from reading the description. To me this is like oolong perfection in a cup. I’ve steeped it now for 3 times in the gaiwan and it’s a rich, golden tea. Mouthfeel is similar to a really nice gyokuro. Very buttery and rich! The slight roasting I believe brings out the nutty flavor. I am getting macadamia nuts and mangoes, a slight taste of corn.

Upon my initial steep I got a tiny trace of bitterness so I would recommend not oversteeping this one if you can possibly help it.

You can just tell this is a great quality oolong, totally off the charts in my opinion. I have hardly met a formosa oolong I did not like but this one ranks up there very high as one of my all time favorites. Very well done, Asha!

Did it taste like anything illegal??

lol – nope, I think you might need the LiShan oolong sativa for that! http://ashateahouse.myshopify.com/collections/oolong/products/li-shan-oolong-sativa

Oops sorry wrong one…

Amy, did you get an oolong sampler? Asha’s Ali San & Li Shan oolongs seem highly priced, Most teas like this are though, and I think their prices are pretty competitively priced, based on what I’ve priced on the net. Oh boy! Now I’m tempted to add another company to my list, and I am trying to not place another tea order till Spring, but this is one I will try…….at some point! :))

I got a sample size of the Ali Shan but not of this one. It was pricey but I loved it.

He is a little pricey now. I remember buying from him back in September when the Alishan was half the price it is now. I will say though he has to me the best oolong I have had. He gives generous samples when you make an order too.

I may buy this today. I respect your taste.

The fragrant aroma and the rich aroma is this the same tea?

TeaBrat 13 years ago

They are different. I have not had the fragrant aroma. I believe this is more heavily roasted…

Charles Thomas Draper 13 years ago

Thanks. They must be sold out….

TeaBrat 13 years ago

Already? sheesh. Maybe you should send them an email or something.

I would do the tasting kit, if he gets more in. You get a good three tastings and you get to try all three.
