10 Tasting Notes
I’m not one who actually likes hazelnut, so much in fact that when I saw this in my sampler I tried to get Adagio to exchange it. But I guess they meant for me to keep it since they never got back to me about returning it when the other tea arrived.
I decided to try it anyway, prepared a cup in my usual way, and I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. I did like the smell when I first got it, but going on previous hazelnut tastings (smell good, taste bad), I didn’t trust it and hid it in the back of the cabinet. I guess it has that ‘nutty’ flavor the other reviews talk about. I usually add a teaspoon or two of sugar to my teas, which really brings out the flavor (for me, I know sugar for some is blasphemy). I’ll probably try mixing it with either the chocolate, vanilla, or plain next time.
Preparation
It probably did not help that I ate this with a Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookie, thus messing up my taste buds, but I found the flavoring…. Hmm. It wasn’t too sweet, and that wasn’t… enough. Like it wasn’t all that chocolaty. Was okay, though.
Preparation
Smell as you open the tin and brew it is wonderful. On that note, I can’t even remember the last time I had an apricot, if I’ve ever had one before, so I don’t know if the taste is correct or not. XD Yeah, not helpful, I know. But definitely a strong fruit flavor, and very mild compared to my usual preference of ‘spicy’ teas.
Preparation
I would rate this more as a traditional soda (aka corn syrup and fizz) than a tea. I think it’s decent enough, but it left me with a bitter aftertaste. Sibs like this stuff a lot, but they’re kids, what do they know…
This was my first taste of rooibos tea after I asked the barista what Teavana had in the way of decaf flavors. Done the traditional way (milk and sugar), it comes to mind of what (I have built up in my mind) I think coffee should taste like, considering the way it smells. I love the spices, but it gets a few points off for being a very mild blend (vanilla), instead of a spicy one (pepper). Nostalgic favorite.
Preparation
I got this on a dare (I know, not a great start to a review) because it was next to the tea I really wanted but couldn’t have (gingerbread). If you take a glass of milk and a box of sugar cookies and liquify them in a blender for 10 minutes, you’ll have this. It really honest to god does taste like a liquid sugar cookie (with a tiny tiny orange liqueur in there). …Unfortunately, I hate sugar cookies which makes this even more weird and unsettling.
Preparation
I’ve been drinking this on and off for a couple of years now and it’s pretty good if you don’t oversteep (a very bad habit I’m trying to break). My taste buds are a little on the stubborn side, but the mint, chamomile, and eluthero ginseng are the strongest flavors to me. Honestly, I love simply smelling the steam of a freshly brewed cup more than drinking it.
