I received this sampler with my Earl Grey, and decided tonight to give it a try (being caffeine free, and myself wanting to go to bed).
I’ve only recently begun to drink loose-leaf tea, and even before that just switched from Lipton to single-brew tea bags. So I’d never had an herbal tea before. The first thing I noticed was the amazing aroma, I picked it up as soon as I first tore the bag, and it was quite unexpected.
Needless to say, I was very surprised to find that, once I’d placed the sample pack (conveniently the right measurement, I might add), in the perfect infuser (also from DAVIDsTEA), the steaming water turned pink! After five minutes of steeping, the liquid is now a dark pink/reddish color, much like the strawberries it’s made of.
Unfortunately, I’m not much of a strawberry fan, or at all, really. I didn’t find the blend very impressive in taste compared to it’s smell. A bit disappointing, but not the worst I’ve ever had. I simply don’t care for strawberries.
