This tea was.. not what I expected to say the least.

The description made it sound so sweet! My first sip I did experience the caramel taste, but after that it i’m just getting that tobacco/woody after taste. This is the first rooibos that I have tried that is so strong in that flavor and aroma. I added some milk to see if it would calm the taste and it did add some creaminess.

My husband likes cigars…thinking he may be a fan of this tea. I won’t purchase more of this after we finish the sample.

I got this an am example with my DavidsTea order, and I must say I am extremely satisfied and will most likely order more in the future! It is a deep yellow and cloudy tea. The aroma is a strong walnuttyness. It really is like a coffee green tea! Reminds me of my hazelnut creamer but has a coconut aftertaste. I’ll be a little sad when this cup is gone..

Wow. The smell of this tea is AMAZING! Smells like roasted peacons from a carnival… I was also very excited to successfully brew a hot pink cup! This could easily be my one of my favorite teas to date.. a smooth cinnamon with the nutty sweetness. A true comfort tea. I am so happy that I ordered a full tin of it. :)

So. I spent the last few hours watching videos about tea tasting. Twining’s has a youtube channel where the host, a British guy with surprisingly straight teeth, explains how the tea in made and goes into different steeping traditions, etc. Anyways! I thought he was just sloppy with how he was slurping up the tea. He slurped the tea like he was on crack! Turns out that is the way it is supposed to be done. Slurping the tea so that it becomes more aerated and the flavors can be better appreciated over the tongue. I just brewed myself some of my mango green from my adagio green sampler packet, and I must say that I can taste the difference.
Yes, this tea is very light in flavor.. both for the green tea and the mango, but I can definitely taste the subtle fruitiness that lingers afterwards. Very refreshing, probably would be a nice summer drink over ice. It’s already hit over 100 degrees here in Las Vegas so I am going to have to take a break from the hots teas soon..

Received this tea as part of my adagio oolong sampler set. It’s actually the first oolong tea that I have ever tried. I expected the tea to be darker steeped, but the color turned out to have a honey-colored liquor. Regarding the taste all I can say is that it tastes like liquid marzipan. All I can taste is the sweet almond. With my first brew, I made the mistake of adding cream, it was WAY to sweet, almost undrinkable. Almost ;)
I would not recommend cream or sweetener it is already so flavorful and sweet.

Okay, so this is my first tea review.. Not sure why I chose this tea as I find it difficult to describe.

First of all, the liquor is a light golden color. Tastewise? I don’t know if I would call it even blueberry. It’s very floral.. but I really don’t have that much experience to white teas compared to green.

It is enjoyable to drink. Very light and clean, but I wouldn’t say it is crave worthy or even order worthy after finishing my sample.

Also, something I have noticed with adagio teas.. not sure if it is just the teas that I ordered but the quality seems a little sub par? The dried leaves seem super fragile compared to those at Teavana. But maybe that’s because my first encounters with tea have been through Teavana?

On my pursuit of becoming a tea aficionado I may review this tea in the future. Learning to refine my taste and find the subtle(tea) in every sip. :)
