This is a wonderful little shop. As noted, they will make you a sample of anything you want to try. They have a huge selection and the prices are quite reasonable. They also will make you a huge variety of hot or cold teas. I had a very nice pomegranate sangria sort of thing with tapioca pearls. They also have a nice selection of cups and strainers and teapots and so forth. There are also baked goods but I haven’t tried any (though they look nice.) They have a frequent buyer program, so be sure to get a card if you’re in the area and will be back.

It was the middle of a weekday when I went in, so they weren’t busy. The manager made me like six sample cups of tea and was very nice and personable. The prices are reasonable (if not cheap) and they have a really large selection.

(Update 4/10/15) Went back again and had a lovely time. More free samples, more tea bought. The staff are super friendly even when the manager is NOT around. A very nice tea shop.

I have been in Teavanas before where the staff was really pushy about the upselling: I know that’s their job but I don’t care for it. I am adding this Teavana because the staff there are reasonably laid back. They did try to sell, but they weren’t jerks about it. The two times I have been in there, they were nice, and they didn’t give me any static when I used strategic purchasing to maximize the value of my email coupon. A reasonable place of business.

I drank soda, way too much of it, for years. I had to give it up, I can’t stand coffee, so I switched to tea. As with many things I do, I often get carried away.

Notes On Preparation:

More than 90% of the time, I am making my tea in a 20oz stainless steel mug, although I don’t fill it full because it’ll run over the strainer. :) I use a selectable-temperature electric kettle to heat the water. When I say “2tsp” of tea, I mean a flat to heaping spoonful in a “Perfect Tea Spoon,” which despite its name holds two teaspoons worth of tea. If a tea I review is available in loose leaf or teabags, I used the loose leaf unless I say otherwise.
