I was just sorting out my old coin collection and I came across an old one that I had forgotten about, It’s a 1797 George III one penny known as a cartwheel. It’s amazing to think of how long ago it was made and the amount of hands it has passed through over the years. Unfortunately it’s not in great condition otherwise I could have gotten a lot of money for it, but for now at least it’s nice to admire it.
To celebrate my coin find I chose a blooming tea from my Teavivre stash and this particular one was chosen at random. Waiting the five or so minutes and watching it bloom into a beautiful flower is almost breathtaking, such beauty from almost nothing. And beautiful it truly is, the red flowers are pale and look very soft.
Flavour wise this is reminds me of white tea similar to silver needle, it’s light yet creamy and floral with a delicate sweetness yet an almost toasted quality. Like a white tea meets a light Oolong. The more I drink the stronger I can taste a honey like flavour.
It’s nice, I would have it again. :)

That is so awesome! The earliest coin I’ve ever come across is from the 1940s or so.
Oh my! I have been drooling over George III tea sets and pots for just that reason – to think of holding it and imagining the stories it has beheld as people reached for the teapot to celebrate a new friendship, an engagement, a baby on the way, or to comfort each other in grief. Sigh.
