68 Tasting Notes
Oh wow, I like this one…. A LOT! It tastes just like I am eating a piece of Big Red gum. True to its name it is pure cinnamon. There is some nice heat to it as well. This is how I thought Hot Lips would taste. It is also a great rooibos, not woody at all. I also love that it’s caffeine free so I can have it before bed without worrying about the caffeine.
Aaaaah… I needed this. It’s warm and sweet. I needed it after my snow filled day. I get a light caramely taste, it almost tastes like a crime brûlée. I think I didn’t steep it enough, next time I am going to add a couple of minutes to the timer. At 5 minutes I find it a bit light and I think there will be more depth with a longer steep. It might also taste great with a touch of milk.
Just poured myself a cup of this great smelling tea. The dried leaves are so pretty with lots of colorful sprinkles. First sip: I can taste maple syrup.. I can also get some caramel flavor. I am happy that this tea does not taste dirty and woodsy as the rooibos. I was really put off rooibos from the Mint Chocolate from David’s Tea. As I keep sipping I can really only taste the maple syrup, which I don’t even know if it even has it as I don’t see this listed in the ingredients. I like it, the sweetness may help me fight my nighttime dessert cravings.
Preparation
I got this as a to go cup today while I was at David’s Tea… it smells and tastes just like popcorn. I think I can even taste the butter. So as I sip my buttered popcorn I think… “I should not like this,” yet I do. The first sip was amazing and as it has cooled I seem to like it a little less. It is still good, it is just that the saltiness comes out more as it has cooled. I don’t know if I would buy 50g but I would definitely consider adding some to my stash.
sigh… I don’t love it. I don’t hate it, so I guess that is good. The dry smell is amazing, alluring me into buying 50g. The first sip is slightly bitter. Which is what is putting me off the taste. I don’t think it is how I steeped it because I followed the directions on the package. I do detect the orange and chocolate which together should be amazing. So when I had a half a cup left I added some milk. MUCH BETTER! The bitter taste is gone and the orange flavor is more prominent. I guess for me this tea will be had with milk.
Making a trip to David’s Tea today. So excited!
I got this in my little sample pack and thought “oh… too bad, I don’t like Earl Grey”… I left it for weeks and weeks sure that I would not like it. Well let me tell you I was so wrong. I loved it. It is creamy and sweet with a tiny bit of vanilla coming through. It is so good that I will be adding it to my permanent collection.
I love chocolate and I love mint… and yes I love them together. Although I like this tea I don’t love it as much as I would have thought. My only guess is that it is the rooibos. There is a “dirty” flavor to this tea that I did not like. I added a teaspoon of candy cane ice cream and it made a yummy latte. The ice cream also helped diminish the woodsy flavor. I would not buy this again.
You know its a good tea when the only complaint is how dirty my steeper gets. Really, it gets dirty… Like a slimy residue on the steeper and mug. Anyway, the tea is super yummy. Warm and sweet. I can taste the chocolate and a sweet taste which almost taste like maple syrup. It is very good but I only recommend it if you like sweet tea. Not just sweet, ridiculosly very sweet tea.
