This tea is weird…. It is sweet and tart, cinnamony and fruity. It tastes like a mishmash of favors, yet I don’t hate it. No, I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. It is hitting the spot tonight as my nighttime tea. I am sure I will have no trouble finishing my 25 grams.

Having this tea right now and all I can think is…. wow, love the color. The brewed liquid is awesome, gorgeous cherry red color. The leaves are very pretty too, I see big chunks of dried fruit, cherries and pineapples. Stepped it for about 4 minutes instead of the recommended 2. I tend to forget that I am making tea and always forget to set the timer.

Okay so taste…… its interesting, it tastes just like cherry cough drops. hmm, not sure I can get past that thought. It tastes like someone melted a Cherry Halls into my cup. Not my favorite, and not something I will buy again, but I am sure I will finish what is in my stash.

Lets start by saying I don’t like rum, which makes me wonder why I even bought this tea. I love steepster for just that, guiding me to a tea that I would never get because of its great reviews.

I am happy to report that I really like this tea. The leaves are pretty and smell sweet and buttery. I steeped it for a really long time, no idea how long, maybe 10 minutes. It is absolutely delicious. I don’t taste the rum, I do get a creamy buttery taste with tiny hints of coconut. I had it straight but will try it with milk and rock sugar next.

Second tea tasting for today…. Loved the smell of this tea at the store. So nuttyandsweet. The taste fails a bit to wow me. It’s just okay. I realize now something I don’t like about teavanas teas…. The pieces are so big that you end up buying 50 grams of filler which does not give you much tea. In the end you add a teaspoon which is just not enough. You really need 2 or 3 teaspoons just to make a decent tea otherwise it’s weak and bland. On the other hand if you add a couple of tsp you realize that 50 grams doesn’t really give you many cups. 5 if you are lucky.

Okay so rant over back to the tea…. It’s okay, weaker than I want. It tastes bit like a cinnamon bun. I am getting a light cinnamon a hint of nuts. Again I have to compare it to DTs tea. This one makes me think of Forever Nuts. The latter is much, much better.

drank Strawberry Paraiso by Teavana

Went to Teavana today for the free cup of tea, and dropped $40. yikes. I bought this tea because I really like the smell of strawberries in tea. It is fruity and tart and sadly forgettable. It does not compare to my favorite strawberry tea from David’s Tea, Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait. All in all its okay, next time I will add more tea leaves, maybe this will help. Oh and I also bought some rock sugar which I added a tiny bit while it steeped. The sales lady said that the rock sugar enhances the flavor of the tea. Not sure I believe it, but it does give it a pleasant sweetness.

drank Main Squeeze by DAVIDsTEA

Made this tea today to take to work, had a couple of sips hot while driving there. Hot is not bad, the problem is that it tastes just like orange juice which really I didn’t want hot. Now it stayed in my locker for a couple of hours and I didn’t have time to drink it… when I did it was awesome. It was refreshing and delicious. It also gave me a nice little pep from the mate. I will definitely be having this tea cold again.

I should also add that the tea leaves smell ridiculously good. I can smell them all day long.

drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA

Had this tea this morning with happy anticipation. First sip tasted just like cream of earl gray, I don’t get any pumpkin. As the water cooled I started to get hits of pumpkin. It’s not bad, but not as awesome as I had hoped. I blame the splash of milk and will be trying it straight next time.

Went to the tasting today at David’s Tea…. Did anybody else go? Tasted: vanilla orchid, pineapple oolong and the new coco lemon Thai. Didn’t like any. Bought: main squeeze, buttered rum, pumpkin chai, creme brûlée and strawberry rhubarb parfait.

This tea is amazing! Didn’t think I would like it since quite honestly I don’t like strawberry rhubarb pie. The leaves smell really good, just like it tastes. Very strawberriesh. As soon as I added the water the liquid turned this awesome color. Omg, cannot express how good this tea is. I am kicking myself for not getting 50grams. Will definitely be adding this to my permanent collection.
