5 Tasting Notes
Another really great green from teavivre. It’s my second unflavored green and, being new to tea, I was somewhat skeptical, is it really going to taste different from dragonwell? I was excited to discover a totally different flavor from the same plant. This tea was a little stronger than teavivre’s longjing, and on the first sip almost seemed spicy. As the cup cooled I started getting a hint of fruit. Definitely a tea I’ll be reordering. I’m hesitant to leave a number rating just because I really don’t know what to give it, it certainly would be high though!
Just had to add in the scent! I can’t really put my finger on it, but it smells delicious and fresh.
Flavors: Fruity, Grass, Vegetal
Preparation
The best dragonwell I’ve had thus far. It came double sealed in two bags and the leaves weren’t broken. It smelled more strongly than the other longjing I’ve had, but not in a bad way. It was toasty, buttery, and dry-hay like, slightly vegetal, and not bitter at all. As far as I can tell (with my limited experience) its perfect. Can’t wait to steep it some more, and play around with the steeping time.
Flavors: Dry Grass, Hay, Toasty, Vegetal
Preparation
Got this a little while ago, I haven’t had many jasmine teas to compare it to but I think its a great tea when I’m in the mood for something floral. I’d definitely recommend it, but I also want to order some other jasmine teas to see which I like more.
Flavors: Floral, Jasmine
Preparation
My second dragonwell. Tasty and lives up to the good reviews. I did a side by side comparison to teavivre’s premium dragonwell and thought teavivre’s was a little better, but not ridiculously so (although I don’t know that much about green tea). I would definitely recommend it to those getting into unflavored teas.
Flavors: Grass, Sweet, Vegetal
Preparation
This was my first loose leaf green tea, and the one that got me totally hooked on green tea and tea as a whole. I got a 2 oz. bag and a glass tea pot so I could brew this the right way. I loved how subtle and sweet the grassy flavor was, completely different from the bitter tasting grocery store green tea bags. I got teavana’s dragon well after finishing most of this so I could compare the two. I can definitely decipher a difference between the two, but I love both. I noticed this one is a bit stronger than teavana’s and I actually like it a little better. I would definitely recommend this tea.
