drank Chai Spice Black Tea by Stash Tea

I tried a few sips of this clear, and it seemed quite spiced — I think I might have to have a proper steep of it this way sometime and see what I think. However, my main objective was chai with milk and sugar today, and so that’s what I’ve made.
The spice is pleasant and comforting, though I wish there was a stronger flavour overall. I’m not sure what exactly, but it feels like it could do with one thing more to just make the flavour pop and really be delectable. But as is, it’s good, spiced, relaxing.

drank Maple Apple Cider by Stash Tea

This is one of those teas that just smells like OH MY GOODNESS. If this tea was available as a scent I would probably buy it and let it aerate throughout my room when I was in an apple-y, harvest-y mood.
Unfortunately, while the scent promises an apple caramel maple delight, the taste doesn’t quite deliver. The maple comes through a lot more than the apple, but it is mainly scent over flavour. (I actually said, when I smelled it, that I hoped this wouldn’t be the taste, but oh well.)
Still, it doesn’t taste bad, just not anywhere near as delicious to the scent. I bet that, if paired with a slice of pie or something harvest-y, it would be a really nice complement. On its own, however, it could do to be stronger.

I… wish this were fruitier. And I hate saying this about a fruit tea, but…. there’s just a hint of fruit, a little apple-y as others have pointed out, and a hint of tart, but not enough to leave a real lasting impression. And, I mean, it’s not bad? And would probably be the right kind of meek thing to have with something and be a nice on the side thing? But not really strong enough to stand out and be a decadent treat on its own, like my favourite fruit teas are.

drank Bold orange pekoe by Tetley

My father likes it bold. Given the choice, he’d prefer to go with these teabags than the regular ones.
I, on the other hand, find it a little too… I don’t know what exactly. The flavour, perhaps, is more musky than the original, a little darker along with stronger, and while I might sometimes like dark or strong in certain teas… it just doesn’t serve for this cuppa.

So, unfortunately, not my favourite. Still quite drinkable, but not one I’d go out of the way for.

1tbsp in my large large libre tea tumbler.

Put the lid on at five minutes, but let it steep longer because it was HOT. One thing that I love about mate, however, is that it is both high caffeine, and ridiculously hard to oversteep; at least with the blends that I have, I’ve only found one (chocolate rocket) that doesn’t take well to the abuse of long periods of steep time as I go about my day.

This tea is supposed to be like the tea version of hot chocolate, and I can taste it. Actually, I think I’ve had hot chocolate that tasted more watered down than this before. The cinnamon actually helps a lot. For a tea, and drinking it clear, it tastes very rich. Though again there is melted chocolate in here, so it’s not too surprising. Really, though, yum.

To be honest, I may end up preferring this to hot chocolate, depending on when and how I want it. It’s better for mornings than the real thing, and delivers well on the chocolate.

I bought this while down visiting friends in the states, and lived partially off of it for the next week. It amused me that it called itself herbal — while technically it is true that it has no TEA in it, herbal usually means no caffeine, and with both guayusa and mate…. yeah no.
Clear, it tastes a little herby, with the spices coming through. A little weak, but not unpleasantly such; you can still taste the tea, but there’s nothing very overpowering. It reminds me of a slightly weaker version of a similar tea from Zen Tea.
The herbal flavour comes out even more with milk and a bit of brown sugar; I think more sweetening wouldn’t be bad if having it like this, but all being told I think I like it better clear.

I’ll be honest, if I had to choose between this and Constant Comment, Constant Comment would win. However, I do enjoy the strong orange taste, and the cinnamon and other spices do well by it. It’s fruity, soothing, and enjoyable.

drank Vanilla Caramel by Lipton

Having this while on holiday and staying with some friends of mine in America. If I think about this in terms of caramel, then yes, I can really taste it. However, overall this reminds me too much of coffee. I tried adding milk, I think it added to the caramel-i-ness, but not to the anti-coffee-ness. I think it may be better with sugar, but I’m not sure.
My friends apparently like it, but it’s not quite for me. Ah well — we all have our own preferences, yes?

drank Birthday Cake by DAVIDsTEA

You can’t go without a smile when preparing tea with sprinkles in it. It’s colourful and fun, I’ll say that for sure. However, it tastes more mapley than cakey in any way. It’s certainly not bad, and it’s fun and festive. However, DAVIDsTEA seems to be stuck on mapley tastes with its dessert teas, and it does sometimes get in the way of their fun names and trying to find good and different tastes.
