171 Tasting Notes
I got this as a sample with my recent order and I have been dying to try it. The leaves have a very strong maple fragrance. The tea itself is more nutty than anything. I had high hopes for maple, but it’s still a great tea. Sweet and light!
Preparation
It’s been so long, oh how I’ve missed you. I was so grateful that my order arrived yesterday just in time for me to take a cup to work. No tea for me today though, my problem tooth is coming out. But therest of my order will be patiently awaiting my return.
Preparation
Not sure why i haven’t logged this yet. I maintain a stock of this at all times.
I greatly enjoy this tea, which apparently everyone I know knows I feel this way. lol.
I currently have two 100g tins and a 50g bag courtesy of my recent b-day.
If anyone has interest in the tea, let me know and I will send you some.
Preparation
MMMMMM… It’s cold out. This helps me forget that.
Just did some obedience training with Miss Rally Rims. She’s a brat, but it was fun. I was trying to teach her to hold a treat on her nose and then catch it… she kept toss it behind her. Before long Mr. Octane showed up and started catching them when she tossed them. It was a good laughed.
Then my tea cooled. I’m loving flavoured puerh lately. I need more.
Preparation
BIG Thank you to Pekko tea for this very generous sample. The dry leaf smells beautiful, very rich. When I added water to the leaves it was such a lovely thing to watch. The tiny leaves are a very deep green and as they settled the water appeared to be a light mint green. It’s steeping now and turning a mild golden colour. The tiny leaves expanded quite a bit.
Cleary this is a delicate tea. Steeped 2 minutes at 80 degrees it has come out slightly bitter. But the vegetal taste is still very rich. Very nice tea!
Preparation
I simply love this tea. I love that I can drink a black tea, that tastes like a black tea, at 9:45pm! I wish there was a caffeinated tea like this!
Preparation
mmmmm… Perfect cup for a day like today. I was so busy running around, I knew I couldn’t have more caffeine. I just had my first meal. And it’s coooooooold out right now! BUT, I get my culprit tooth pulled next week. Yay!
AND my dog actually let me drink this cup. She’s not a fan of peppermint.
Preparation
I was feeling bored with my collection and I found another sample of this hidden away. Excitement ensues!
Brewed it up with one sugar, teeny bit of milk. Took one sip, too hot! Pick up the laptop… Dog shoves her face into the tea cup and drinks tea… So much for that! lol
I should get ready for my dentist appointment anyway.
Preparation
Oh no, sorry. Hahaha. My chinchilla does that all the time. He tries to climb into the cup of tea and can smell tea from like a mile away.
I spilled some matcha awhile back (from Red Leaf Tea) my dog was all over that and looks hopeful everytime I go to make a cup. I don’t share my matcha :D
LOL! She’s only ever showed interest in Cinnamon Heart by DT before. She didn’t even give me warning.
LOL! The imagery of this just made my day! Sorry you didn’t get to drink your tea, but thank you for this gem!
It’s things like that that make me miss my great dane, Ellie Mae. She had such a humorous personality, & a knack for walking through the kitchen & grabbing whatever she saw on the counter or table en route to the (big) doggy door. It was infuriating, but I loved her, & when she left this world I cried as if I’d lost a child, which basically I had. (I’m teary-eyed now, just thinking of her). A week after her passing a huge black great dane showed up on my front porch! When I opened the door he walked right in! We hung out for awhile,he acted like we were old friends, then I called the number on his tag, & his daddy came & got him. I am certain that he came to tell me that Ellie said, “Hi”.
That is such a sweet story. :*( These are my first dogs of my own. Octane has his dysfunctions in that I don’t think he’s right in the head, lol. Rally is my baby, she follows me everywhere, counter surfs, steals socks and undies, and has eaten 3 couches. But, she is the most gentle creature in the world. She hides under my daughter’s bed and watches her play, she licks your face when you’re upset and she LOVES to spoon. It was only a matter of time before I started sharing tea, she decided it should be now.
I’m feeling much better now. My cold is almost gone after a miserable 6 days. My house is clean, BoxerPapa isn’t much of a house keeper. The dogs and I went for a walk. I’m tired now though, so I’m going to watch a movie and see how many steeps I can get out of this lovely tea.
I get cravings for it, I’ve never tasted anything like it. It’s like a sweet potato casserole. Sweet and creamy with a hint of cinnamon. Today is a great day!
On closer inspection (my second steep) I realize I used boiling water. This is likely what altered the taste. In any case I enjoyed it so much I’m already planning another order around it, which may include a gaiwan.
Yipes, boiling water is a bit harsh with this tea. I did that once before. Its really easy to use boiling water since the leaves are dark like a black tea.
I didn’t even think twice about it. Which is weird, I even chuckled to myself when I found this sample in with my black tea samples. It was still really good though!
I’m glad it still came out good. :)
this one is already in my cart, it’s perfect for autumn :)
I love this tea. And I do not like oolongs. Mostly.
