58 Tasting Notes
Ohhhh Aveda. I’ve had 2 friends who worked for the company, so I’ve been around this tea a lot. Shame it’s so expensive. I’ll only get it through my friend with her employee discount.
Anyway, man is this sweet! I only steep it for a short amount of time with the tea bags or else it becomes undrinkable. I find that when it’s made for guests at the Aveda salons, it’s a lot less sweet. They use those huge family size bags and a lot of water, so maybe that’s why.
So this tea always reminds me of my 2 best friends when I drink it. I only have 2 bags left and will likely hoard them for a special occasion.
Got this as a sample from the Adagio store because I spent a good hour there with a friend talking with the employees. It would never be something I’d buy myself since it’s pretty expensive, so I was really thankful that this was my free sample!
And honestly, I can understand why it costs so much. I never thought I’d use “buttery” to describe tea, but it’s absolutely applicable here. You can steep this tea twice and it will taste just as good the second time, which does make it a bit more cost effective. So Ali Shan, I will never buy you, but I’m glad I got the experience somehow.
This tea is amaaaaaazing. It tastes (and smells) like the candied nuts that you get at the Renaissance Faire. And the pink color is lovely.
My only complaint is that you don’t get much when it’s measured out. Probably because nuts are a lot heavier than tea leaves. Thus, this is a splurge tea for me.
This tea has a special place in my heart. I need to have it every winter season. However, I feel like it isn’t always blended the same way with the same ratios of ingredients? I really liked the sample I got first but the bigger bag tasted a little different. More clovey.
Also, I remember when I went to the Adagio store with a friend before Thanksgiving and was already craving this blend but it wasn’t on the shelves. One of the guys custom blended it for me. I asked him if he’d “make Christmas” so for the remainder of my time, we were constantly breaking into the song “Making Christmas” from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Good times.
Not sure why the rating is so low for Candy Cane! I love this tea in the winter. In fact, almost every time it’s snowing, I brew up a pot of it. Makes me feel nice and warm while it’s cold and blustery out.
I even had this tea in the summer when I had a cold. The peppermint has a way of making my throat and nose feel better.
Awwww yiss! I normally am not a fan of sweet, dessert teas, but this tea changed my mind. One of my favorite youtubers raved about this tea so I had to try it. It’s definitely going to be a staple on my tea shelf now.
Rooibos is the perfect base for this tea. It means I can have some sweetness in the evening and not have to worry about caffeine.
I WISH this tea tasted as delicious as it smells!
My coworker and I both ordered this at the same time and we were really excited to try it. He received it first (remote workers) and said it tasted like nothing. I was disheartened. No way, the description was too great for it to taste like nothing. I got my order an hour later and brewed it up immediately. It tasted… like nothing. I was so disappointed.
I’ll drink it occasionally because I have the big bag and I want to get rid of it. Shame it doesn’t come in the sample size because I would have ordered that instead. Then I wouldn’t have felt so bad throwing it out. :[
