Valerie Topete has always loved stories and art. Photographs either tell a story or inspired a person to imagine a story. With quality light and the right angle, anything can create a memorable image. For example, “dumpsters at dawn” shows a few homeless scavengers checking out the contents. It was taken five years ago; yet the image stays in Topete’s mind. She majored in English in college so story telling is a passion of hers.
