This is a lovely white tea made from spring 2019 Camellia Taliensis tea leaves harvested in Yang Ta village in Jinggu county of Simao.

First flush of spring tea leaves for picked and then allowed to dry in the shade naturally curing over several days. The tea was then stored in loose leaf form until May 2020 when it was pressed into cakes!

A lovely sweet and thick white tea that has honey and fruit character, and is easy-going and very enjoyable to drink!

I bought a cake of this about 3 years ago, and it has improved since then! I love the mild briskness, and the maltiness on the tongue. Slightly floral scent, too. The cake was easy to pry apart, though the leaves were fragile and prone to shattering. Still for sale at YS, though at $30/250g it’s perhaps not the value previously reported — though it has improved, so perhaps it is actually still a value? It is surely potent. I brewed (western) 5g in 8 oz boiling spring water for a mere 15 sec each for three infusions, and 30 sec for the 4th, and the liquor has deepened from golden amber at start to golden brown on the 4th, with no drop in flavor or aroma yet. If anything, the aroma of honey has intensified, and the malty flavor is persisting. This is surprisingly good tea! I’ll rate it at 83 and have hopes that more aging will provide continued pleasure! Nice aftertaste, too!

Incredibly, meh. Better than a lipton tea bag. Not a lot interesting in this herbal leaning white tea/tisane. Really dries my mouth out and gave me a headache. I’ll use this as an excuse to see how ye sheng ages. Throwing it in the back of my tea storage to be forgotten for a while.

Agreed. I started breaking apart and now I wish I would’ve let it sit a while. Just put it back in the paper and wrapped that in plastic wrap. ugh. Have you ever used the app MyTea Pal? It’s a great way to store your teas and join a tea community. They have a group on FB which I am part of and it’s very active, only I don’t use FB anymore so the app is where I live. You can track all of your teas, tasting, it even takes it out of your inventory if you weigh them as you drink. It can randomly select your teas to brew if you can’t make up your mind and soooooo much more.

Got this as a freebie when I made a YS order recently

Really nice. Not as sweet as other white teas I’ve had, but earthy aromas and no astringency at all. Taste isn’t super strong but very pleasant to drink. I’ve soon others are brewing it at much higher temps, so I’ll probably give that a try.
