A lovely spring harvested tea from Yang Ta village in Jinggu county. Camellia Taliensis varietal tea leaves picked from 40 to 60 year old plantation bushes, and processed into this lovely and unique black tea. Through a process of frying, rolling, wilting and drying Mr. Lu (a Yang Ta local tea grower) has brought out all the subtle and complex nuances that this lovely varietal has to offer. Thick, sweet, malty and floral, this tea brews up a lovely vibrant and stimulating cup of tea!

Big hairy golden buds. Each steep is immensely floral and thick with hints of sorghum and horehound. To my surprise there’s a bit of qi to this cha as well. Interesting how I’ve never been wowed by Jinggu puerh but the blacks and whites always seem to impress.
This tea is so floral that I can’t believe there isn’t Jasmine flowers mixed in with it. Sweet, thick, malty, and floral – the perfect tea to start Spring with.

first real non flavoured loose leaf black tea, and this is so different from the regular bagged tea. delicious, unique taste. there was a word i was looking for until i read the tea description. malty. drank about half of my 500 ml mug black, then added milk and sugar, and it is amazing both ways. i wonder what part of my tea journey i will start to be more discerning with teas as opposed to just constantly being blown away by 95% of the teas i try.
