This is a high mountain green tea from Da Zhang mountain in Jiangxi, growing at about 1100 meters this tea is picked, fried, wilted and fried again in a wok to a grey/green dry kernel.
The tea has a nutty oolong aroma and taste. Early infusions hint at pine sap and sugarcane. Taste is strong, nutty and vegetal. Tea soup viscous and golden-green. Not a delicate tea but clean taste and good cha qi that reflect it’s high mountain

I pulled this one out of the box and finally got around to trying it yesterday.
This brewed up really dark – a deep golden yellow. I was a little skeptical, and thought that it would be bitter and undrinkable. But I was pleasantly surprised. Nutty and vegetal. I have no issues with strong tasting green tea’s so this was really tasty to me.

I steeped 1 tsp of this at 80C for 3 minutes and got a very deep yellow liquor. And when I sipped it… it tasted nutty and vegetal, but also like honey!
I kept on getting this wash of honey over the back of my mouth! This is delicious. Thank you so much to Ubacat for providing a sample of this in the GCTTB. I don’t order from YS, but this tea is seriously making me rethink that. Mmmm.
I love Bi Luo Chun but am surprised to find this is a very different Bi Luo Chun! This tea is not delicate! I brewed at 185 , 1 tsp , 2 min, 8 oz. That’s pretty much my standard for most greens but this one seemed quite strong at 2 min. It brews a golden colour. It’s strong , nutty & vegetal . I occasionally pick up pine sap notes.
It definitely does have good Cha qi. This tea has really given me good energy this morning. Because this is a strong green it kind of reminds me somewhat of some of the young shengs. A very strange Bi Luo Chun! I enjoy this tea but can’t say I love it like my Bi Luo Chun from Royal Tea Bay or Teavivre. It certainly is different. I plan on brewing this with a shorter steep time next time.
I think this is a good tea for those who love shengs or dark tea drinkers that want to try out some greens.Flavors: Nutty, Pine, Vegetal
