From website:

Lumber Slut was pressed in 2017.
If you dislike the idea of licking wood and rolling around on the damp forest floor, turn back now.
Lumber Slut is not the most approachable ripe Puer tea. Blended to favor the dense flavors of petrichor, this style of ripe Puer is focused on unfolding as a woody experience with notes of camphor and lower umber toned tastes. Will benefit from further aging, but if you’re down for what this tea is offering, we suspect you can drink it straight away without flinching.
Each cake is 200 grams of tea.

This is currently my favorite shou. I agree with another reviewer, this tea is definitely approachable, despite the description on the website. I will be buying a cake of this in the future.

I guess “petrichor” means petroleum. Very thick, with that taste. It not of wood too me, but that might be what it is. I’ve certainly had less unctuous ones that were drier, woodier. This one is very wet, not wet-stored, but what I’d consider sloppy drunk, causing embarassment to all at the party. The one hanging all over you with alcohol breath at the party telling you how much they love you. Maybe in five years but presently I’d avoid this one.

Very sweet, very thick and smooth. Wood, leather and specifically recently-felled Redgum timber. Very slight mouth-cooling and camphor flavour on some steeps.

Thickness lasted for six of nine steeps. Sweetness lasted throughout. In final three steeps, the flavour became “clear” but not “thin”.

I’m not sure why Paul describes this tea as not-very-accessible – there’s no funk or dirtiness to it, just rich, fragrant, delicious, thick, tasty timber and a tonne of sweetness (for a shu).
