From White August

This stunning Chinese black tea is among the finest in the world. Each spring the tea leaves are carefully plucked of only one leaf and one bud, resembling a monkey claw. The beautiful twisted golden leaves yield a full bodied tea with a soft apricot finish. 50g bag only.

This is a mighty fine Golden Monkey! Didn’t disappoint! It has the flavor you would expect from a Golden Monkey! As well as a semi-chewy with the slightest bit of smoke hint that lingers on to the aftertaste! Very Nice!

LOVE! This is a fabulous Golden Monkey. I taste so many layers of flavor. In one sip, I can taste notes of caramel and honey, raisin, spice, malt, wood, earth as well as the faintest hint of smoke. It is very smooth it its approach. No bitterness and very little astringency. The finish is sweet and vaguely smoky. So very beautiful. I love this one.

This was the goldest of the Golden Monkeys I’ve ever come across. It resembled a Yunnan Gold instead of its other Fujian brethren, which merely had flecks of gold. The taste reflected the visual presentation; autum flush-like malt and muscatel notes and a caramel-honey/apricot finish. It’s a damn good golden cup.

I enjoyed the presentation of the tea as well as its taste. A classmate of mine brought this for our class to try, and it was good.
