New England Harvest Blend (TE57)

Does anyone else line-up their yet-to-be-tried-new-tea-packages like lil soldier/men? Well, apparently that is what I’m doing these last few days! LOTS and LOTS of tea to be tasted! Woot!

This one smells REALLY nice! Festive, even! A Combo of vanilla, almond, apple, orange, spice, and more! Ahhhhh!

It gives off a lovely color a bolder orange-brown.
As for the taste I can first pick out the apple and mellow spices followed by the citrus and it ends with the welcoming spec of vanilla. I really enjoy the end sip finishing with this vanilla – it’s a nice creamy segue to the aftertaste of that and the almond.

The flavors in this tea aren’t over-the-top which make is all work well and worth while. I like it!

At the beginning of this cup I was listening to the Rolling Stones and now I am listening to…The Beatles.

The smell of this one was surprising when I opened the packet. It’s very apple-y, with cinnamon and orange and sweetness. I love the smell! It’s almost like apple cider, but better somehow. Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint after steeping.
Well, I’m pretty disappointed. It’s nearly flavorless. I’m wondering if I somehow didn’t put in enough leaves? I’m going to reserve my number rating until I can try again with a stronger infusion.

Another sipdown! While this isn’t a bad tea it is for sure a winter tea. I’m not overly a fan of black spiced sort of teas in the summer. Still though, a decent enough blend that i could take or leave from upton.

Thanks IrishBreakfastLass! Mm this smells so good! It made my entire kitchen smell like cinnamon. It’s strongest flavor is cinnamon(maybe a bit too much for my liking) but I can get hints of apple, vanilla, and orange. Mm :] Thanks again!

Since I found Upton by following Steepster, it’s perhaps fitting that my first remarks on the site is for theirs. I just received 8 samples today, and decided to test 3 “spiced” ones tonight. First up is this one, but will be comparing with Cinnamon Chai and Tropical Spice.

One of the problems I’ve had with flavored black teas, is the black tea itself can be very bitter (looking at you Adagio). This one isn’t (phew). Overall, the spices are blending well, with cinnamon definately the star. I’d classify this a “medium” spice, leaning towards mild. For those who don’t like chai spices that are too heavy-handed, this one might please. For me, they’re a little too light, but tasty/good (will finish sample).

This was one of the best teas we’ve had in a while! What a pleasant suprize! We had this sample in our cupboard for a while, and just decided to brew up a pot this evening. It has a nice spiciness and is also kind of creamy and smooth. Went really well with milk!

Wow, this was fantastic.

The official description calls it a “Fireside” tea which is very fitting. That mulled-wine style vibe of cinnamon, orange peel and cloves is right there for the taking. It’s kindof like a Black Chai Spiced tea, but a lighter version of that. Not overwhelming, just very well balanced. I really liked this.

What a beautifully warm tea! Nice cinnamon aroma and flavor, enhanced by adding milk/half-and-half and sugar. Well-rounded, smooth, relaxing tea with a good moderately strong flavor – not overpowering, but not weak and therefore lost if adding said milk and sugar.

I am old enough to remember the “Market Spice” tea craze of the seventies (which thankfully is over….I could barely walk into a store that sold tea without nearly gagging on the overwhelming clove-cinnamon-fake orange smell. This tea on the other hand has a wonderful citrus, woodsy and spicy quality without losing the tea flavour. It is my fall evening around the campfire tea.

Spicy aroma, but not overpowering; reminds me of hot cinnamon candies. Tannin level a bit high for my taste, but a dash of milk helps smooth this out. A warm, comforting cup.
