Other reviewers have noted that this is not a very strong chai. While I would agree with them, I actually think a more mild chai isn’t a bad thing to have on hand. It is not flavorless – the vanilla and chai spices are certainly detectable. It is, however, more gentle and less intense than many other chais I’ve had. This morning, I’m sipping it after coffee and it’s perfectly cozy on a very cold November day. Purchase/drink if the idea of a “soft” chai appeals to you, and avoid if you like a more “in your face” chai.

Thanks to tea-and-cats for these tea bags! This smells so good. I don’t end up tasting much vanilla, though I suppose there may be some. I do taste a lot of warming chai spices. It’s decently well-balanced and tasty. Actually, it reminds me of cookies, and the person I shared it with said it reminded them of graham crackers. So this one was popular, but didn’t really taste like it was supposed to exactly.

Late-night chai. This one’s a bit expired. If there were any French vanilla notes, I can no longer taste them.

This tea bag came free in a box of something else. It was a step above the Bigelow version that I sampled yesterday. The chai spices were decent but I don’t care for the vanilla. It tasted artificial.

Great for a grocery store bagged tea. Mild chai that tastes best with a little milk. Definitely like to keep this in my pantry as an easy go to.

I used to love this tea! Now it just tastes artificial. I’m a little disappointed, but I may flavor it with some Pumpkin Spice creamer next time. I always drink chai tea with milk. So good.

Not the best, but still recommending this tea for those who enjoy the tase of Chai. There’s a good amount of caffeine and the tea itself doesn’t taste bad. My only major issue with this tea, is that is tasted rather artificial and the tea was almost too sweet without any added sweeteners (a good indication of artificial flavoring). With that being said, this is an acceptable Chai if there’s no other option…. but, I don’t believe I’ll be purchasing this specific Chai tea again.

I was away for the weekend, and this is one of the teas they had where I was, so I gave it a try. French Vanilla Chai? That sounded interesting. But I don’t really like vanilla so it was just okay for me. I also added honey cause I couldn’t find any sugar. I think I was also tasting the cardamom, which was also a downside for me. Won’t be having it again, but it was drinkable.

The scent was promising but the tea, itself, was disappointing compared to what one expects from a Chai tea.

I’m not usually a chai fan, as I find them to be a bit too strong for my liking, so I didn’t hate the tea, but I didn’t like it either. Looking at this from a chai/vanilla perspective, I felt they missed the mark in both directions.

The tea was weak enough I never even removed the bag while drinking it, which is highly unusual for me when it comes to chais.

I prefer to not add sweeteners, but I may try a bit of milk or honey as suggested by other reviews and see if it changes my opinion.

EDIT TO ADD: I did a second brew at 190 degrees, steeped for 5-6 minutes, and added a bit of honey powder to it. It made no significant boost to flavor other than to make it slightly sweeter. Still would not recommend.
