Great Canadian Travelling Tea Box

Dex to the rescue!

It’s not bad. Green tea is one of the few types that I can easily drink unsweetened (prepared correctly that is), but with that being said, none of the flavors really pop when I do that. I faintly taste lemon and maybe a little orange, but it’s an afterthought, not the main event. I bet I would taste more fruit if I sweetened it, but given that this is one of the few types of teas I can do without, I’ll sip the rest of the cup as is.

Thanks to Lala for this tea! I had more than enough for a cold brew, so I figured, why not? The dry leaf smells very orangey, yet that citrus profile completely vanished upon steeping. The cold brew barely has any flavour at all, unfortunately, but it may have to do with its age? Who knows. One thing I find very interesting, however, is that the only flavour peeking through is ginger root-like. That’s all I taste. Even the green base is flavourless!

But it was still interesting to try, and that ginger note was a complete surprise. I’m going to abstain from rating it mainly because I’m not sure how old it is, and perhaps it may have been different fresh.

Thank you Dexter for this one a while back! I could tell by the dry leaf scent this one isn’t for me… it smells something like ginger, but I don’t see any ginger listed in the ingredients. It’s a smell that reminds me of allergies or something, dill or pollen. The green base is fine, from what I can taste, but it does seem like whatever that scent is takes over the green tea. Not really much mandarin either. Just not my thing! :D

GCTTB I figure i need to try the last few teas from the tea box that i really wanted to try and get the rest on the move. I wanted to try this one even though it was a green because i enjoyed the other teas that dexter had shared with me from the tea cupany. I just haven’t had a chance to actually place an order myself….yet.

I really like this one. What’s funny though, is that i could love it even more as a puerh. The flavouring in this one reminds me a LOT of the puerhs that are put into the orange rinds. It’s for sure a mandarin flavour though, not strictly orange and that is whats makes me happy with it i think. Another win from the tea cuppany!

Dexter

Happy you liked this one.
Why am I not drinking/sampling more of my TeaCupanny teas?

Sil

because you have 23408234098 teas…

Dexter

Really? Is that the problem? I need to work on that… :))
