Nothing says I love you like fine chocolate combined with cinnamon hearts. This tea has a hint of sweetness with a slightly spicy after taste. Simply delicious! Contains no dairy!

Second tea of the morning…. (SRP #36)

I received this one in a swap with the wonderful Tina S.. I was just reading her note, and I kind of have to agree with her that this is a tough read. It really wants to be a very good cinnamony and chocolately black tea, but for some reason, the cinnamon hearts kind of come out as this weird cinnamon taste…maybe kind of artificial? I probably am just spoiled by my favorite cinnamon-in-overdrive tea, though. I do get the notes of chocolate, and the tea base is warm and roasty tasting. I think the chocolate tea on its own would be pretty good. Maybe I will just pick out the cinnamon hearts if there is a next time….. Anyway, thank you for a fun taste of tea from across the boarder! I love to try things I can’t get here!

Usual mug method with a 3 minute steep.

This is certainly an interesting one! not enough to rebuy, but I would recommend it to someone looking for a light spicy chocolate tea. It could be an alternative for DTs Chocolate Chili Chai.
My first steep was bare, steeped for 3-4 min. A little too strong for my liking, in the tea aspect. Spiciness was just right. The second steep, I had a leftover candy heart so added that, and also some milk. This brought out the chocolate quite a bit.
Also, I really like that most of the candy bits melted. I always feel it’s a waste when there is candy in a tea and it does nothing but sit there.
Overall, I think this was pleasant. Thanks so much for the sample Tina S!!

You’re welcome, bb! I agree it was really interesting but not one I’m going to refill.

This is a limited edition tea from the Tea Haus for Valentine’s Day 2012. On a whim I decided to order it and give it a try. I like chocolate and I like cinnamon and I like black tea, so why not, right?

It’s a unique flavour. There are definitely chocolate notes to the tea but nothing dominating. The black tea flavour is still prominent and the cinnamon wasn’t strong when sipping it black. Curious, I added a half teaspoon of sugar and pow! There was the cinnamon. Amazingly though it played well with the other notes, making a really interesting and delicious cup. I can’t summarize the flavour easily since each note is definitely there waiting to be discovered. I am intrigued and curious what others will think of this one!

I’m not rating it yet because I honestly can’t decide where it is going to fall on the scale!
