From The Tea Emporium

Fruity delightful Vitamin bomb. Loaded with fruits and citrus including hibiscus, lemongrass, lemon pieces, Vitamin C and calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate is often used as an antacid – great for digestion.
Tip: Use 1tsp per 6oz cup; heat fresh water to a boil; let steep 5-7 minutes. Great iced!

I made a big pitcher of this iced and gave some to Mum. She looooved it! Mum the tea hater loves citrus sunburst! :)
We got into a discussion about how it could be used… and I mentioned that it’d be great for kids but she thought it wouldn’t be for some reason. Then I told her there was no caffeine in here and she was all “are you sure??”. No matter how many times I confirmed, Mum was not to be convinced that this is safe to drink at any time of day. sighs
Oh well, she loves it!

I’m beginning to think that every hibiscus tea tastes the same. I did get some citrus notes here but I got mostly hibiscus. Maybe a five minute brew was too long? I’m also in a bit of a cranky slump today so that may have something to do with it. Not rating this one because it may be my crankiness. If you like citrus and hibiscus, definitely go for this one as it is lovely that way. I just feel like I’ve had the same flavour before in other teas and therefore this one didn’t whelm, either over or under.

aha! I knew the hibiscus would come back to attack you in another tea moment :P
Maybe you had a few extra ’biscus leaves? maybe one from this batch slipped into mine to!!

HEEE! I suspect there is an evil hibiscus tea monster out there determined that if we just drink it enough we will love it, and therefore him, and then he can take over the world, one teacup at a time.

Indigobloom 13 years ago

LOL if I catch him… can I keep him??

Tina S. 13 years ago

If it keeps the hibiscus away, most definitely! :D

My wife snagged a cup of this from the lovely Indigobloom tonight and as soon as we got home, we brewed up a bubbe teapot full to share.

This is lovely! It’s juicy (which I consider a good thing ;) ) and the citrus cuts some of the sweetness…it’s just a nice little tea. Kind of like Pink Flamingo without the overwhelming hibiscus. I think we might need to investigate this further.

I still haven’t tried this one, maybe I shall do so tonight! :D
