Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea.

This is a delicious CTC Assam. It is quite bold and invigorating, and it is helping me stay warm too! Nice malty taste to it. I only steeped this 2 minutes in my Breville, so there is no bitterness to it – not even a hint! – but I suspect it, like other Assam teas, would become bitter if it were over-steeped.

As it is though, it is a very comforting and deliciously rich cup. Just what I needed!

Kashyap

it is also the base for thier 500 mile chai….

This is what I like to call – in my own personal lingo – pebble tea! :)

This is VERY strong, bold, DARK, and a little astringent. For once, I would say, I think this one would be better with additives, etc.

(As many of you know I drink everything plain)

Batrachoid

Sounds fun. Additives like milks and sugar or like lemon peel and licorice?

TeaEqualsBliss

what ever floats your boat lol

Batrachoid

Of course. XD A blending friendly Tao tea certainly will.

Picked this up at Home Goods quite a while ago and I’ve been using it to concoct my own masala chai. I’m definitely homing in on what I think is a really good blend of spices with this as my tea base. It’s a nice, malty assam that stands up to the spices but doesn’t overpower them. I can boil it with the spices in my chai pot and it doesn’t get bitter at all. Very nice tea and it’s been so much fun to experiment with!
