Thank you ColumbiaKate for the sample! This is a fabulous tasting tea! I first thought, Carrot Tea? Really? But from the first sip I’ve been hooked. A new cupboard essential!

This one tastes and smells like Sun Tea – you know, letting tea bags sit in the sun through the day and serving the tea over ice in the evening. When I lived in SoCal, that’s all we drank. And when we moved to Maryland, we brought along the custom. I remember one of my childhood friends being completely befuddled about leaving a beverage outside and then drinking it, but that was my childhood summertime thirst quencher!

OK, enough blabbing on Memory Lane. (Actually that’s what this tea should be called!) It tastes like a sip of sunshine. There is a definite “this is tea” quality about it. While it tastes like sun tea, there’s a twist – a fruit-and-veggie medley.

I could talk about this tea for hours. I am in LOVE! Move over, CHAI!

KeenTeaThyme

P.S. I actually had the loose tea version of this, not the tea bagged variety. I hope I reviewed the right one! :)

Daddyselephant

I just had a conversation with someone about sun tea and how it’s “unsafe” >.<. My mom has been making sun tea for as long as I can remember and when I moved out on my own, a sun tea jug was one of the first things I bought! I can’t imagine a summer without sun tea….c’mon, sun, where are you?

KeenTeaThyme

“unsafe” my fanny! I lived on that and I turned out just fine…well, OK, I’m a little weird, but for the most part – healthy. And a tea lover.

Yes, sun, get a move on!

Daddyselephant

Me too! And it’s somehow tastier and so much better when brewed in the sun. Meh. Cityfolk…what can you do? Always afraid of something ;) teasing

I am so ready for spring.

ColumbiaKate

Another winner! It was the only green rooibos I had at the moment. I have had a great response from those who have tried this tea in the shop. It is not on the menu yet, but looks like it will be.

Infusin_Susan

I was trying to resist, but that does it. I give in. You’ve given me a lemming. :)

When I first saw the name of this tea that TeaEqualsBliss gave me I must admit that I was a little scared.
Carrots? In Tea?
But, when I smelled the tea I was surprised, pleasantly surprised that is.
Then when I tasted it, I was happy to find a bright sweet tea that did not taste like a salad at all.
I love drinking this tea after supper and am very sad that it is now gone.
I think I will be adding this to my shopping list.
Thank You, TeaEqualsBliss!

This tea is from Jaime, but it was Meghann that suggested I have it w/ lunch. A large Mission Carb Balance whole wheat tortilla spread w/ hummus and topped w/ ham, shreaded cheese, and banana peppers, heated for 20 sec and then rolled. I only heated the wrap so it was easier to roll. It was cold when I ate it cuz I made it while the tea was steeping.

1 bag/8oz water/11 min

The raw leaf smells mostly of orange. The aroma was so strong it got my dog’s attention when I took it out of the bag lol.

The steeped liquor has a lighter aroma and looks very much like a combo of carrot and beet juice except it’s much more translucent and more pink than red.

Ok, I can no longer say that I don’t like anything w/ beet in it. This is a very smooth balance of fruit and savoryness from the carrot. It reminds me of a tea version of V8 V-Fusion. It went great w/ my sandwhich and I bet would go great w/ borscht!:)

This is amazing and based on my liking I’d give it a 100, but flavors would have to be stronger to earn it for accuracy, which is what I rate based on.

“I bet it would go great with borscht!” Definitely the first time I’ve ever seen that phrase! ;) I have a great aunt who used to make the stuff, my mom always referred to it as pink soup! I have not tried it as an adult, maybe I should. :)

Cofftea

Well amandajo, my best friend is Russian. :) They are actually refugees from what is now Estonia and her mother is a WONDERFUL cook. I’ve heard her borscht is amazing… and after drinking this tea I think there just may be a possibility of me liking it- something I thought I never would!

Thank you Jaime for sending this to me sometime ago now. I have finally taken the time to organize my cupboard which is basically in my kitchen and dining room (I have too much tea, it is spilling over in great amounts throughout my house but don’t worry I am not complaining) Anyway, after organizing I now have better access to my samples which I hope to be going through more quickly.

So not bad but I was hoping for more of a pronounced carrot taste. Still I very much enjoyed drinking it. I could draw from it the natural sweetness of the carrot. There is a Indian dessert made of carrot that my mom will make once in a blue moon that this stuff reminds me of it. Of course now I am craving it and will have to request she make it sometime. As for the orange aspect, it was a nice complement to the carrot. The Green Rooibos was the perfect choice to help highlight the added flavors. Yum!

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tisane.

This is really good. I love how I can taste all of the components: the fruity notes of the green rooibos, the sweetness of the carrot and beet, and the juicy tart notes from the orange. Energizing and yet soothing. Very nice.

I have this one in the pantry but I don’t recall trying it. I’ll have to give it another go.

So I have to admit that this is the first green rooibos that I have tasted. I’m hanging out at my favorite coffee shop while visiting my fiance. I’m enjoying it with a ham and gruyere pastry. This is very enjoyable. I like the body of this tea. I have to agree with TeaEqualsBliss this does taste like a V8 juice combination. I would purchase a tea of this.

Cofftea

This was my 1st greenbush too. YUM!

I’m really liking what Republic of Tea has been doing lately with their new creations and flavor combinations. When I first saw this one on their website, I knew I had to try it. Turns out, everyone else did, too, and I had a hard time finding it in my town. Thank you, Liquor Barn, for your great selection of teas.

This rooibos is sweet (I’m assuming from the beetroot), but it mainly tastes like carrot. There’s a slight orange taste, as though you had cooked carrots with a bit of orange juice in the water. There’s a mild, grassy, rooibos flavor finish. I find that I like the Mango Chili and Plantain Coconut better than this blend, but don’t regret the purchase at all. I’m finding that I’m really enjoying teas made out of the more unusual ingredients here lately. Will have to keep an eye out for more of them.

I happened to be in the mood for this tea as I had made a carrot cake for a birthday celebration. This tea is best when it’s hot – the flavors seem a lot brighter then. I taste mostly orange (a little like Motrin) with a bit of carrot. I don’t think I’d be able to identify that flavor as carrot if I were given a cup of this without knowing its name. It’s a very creative, flavorful and almost juicy cup of tea. I don’t think I’d buy a ton of this tea because I enjoy the plantain coconut green bush blend from Republic of Tea a bit more.

This is…eh. I don’t have much feeling about it either way. An acceptable orange blend. I haven’t had green rooibos before so I can’t comment on that at all, but I don’t taste much aside from orange. To its credit, it smells wonderful, but the taste is lacking something in comparison. I think I wish there was more carrot in it; it seems like it can’t decide whether to be a juicy fruit tea or a savory tea.

ETA: Getting a chalky aftertaste with the end of this cup. It’s also slightly more spicy and interesting at the end, but the mouthfeel is unpleasant.
