Lapsang Souchong is one of the most well-known Chinese black teas among world’s black teas from the vigorous mountain of Wu Yi in Fujian. Dried longan or lychee sweet fruit taste in early infusions. Malt base flavor and cocoa with lingering fruit sweetness. Beautiful liquor color between burgundy and chardonnay. A must try Chinese black Tea.

Saw this at an Asian market. The brand rep was there doing inventory and recommended me a bunch of their products, I bought this simply because I was curious. Didn’t think it would be top tier tea, the tin looked pretty.

It really is just supermarket tea and the dry leaves smelled like supermarket tea. Smell was decent once the hot water was in, but this souchong tasting almost exactly like a daohongpao was off putting. I wouldn’t say it tasted bad, but for this price I’d recommend people to get a tin of Harney and Sons instead.
