I don’t remember who I got this sample from. It was one I brought to work and had at my desk. I had one cup, and left the rest waiting for another day when that was what sounded good. And then I forgot about it.
Well, I found it and decided to have it this morning.
I didn’t like it. I normally love jasmine, but this just wasn’t good to me. I hope it was just this tea, and not jasmine teas in general. I have a good amount of jasmine teas but I haven’t been drinking them lately.
But this tea, BLAH. I think the base tea itself wasn’t good, and the jasmine tasted funny. Really strong, but not right. I dunno.

This strongly scented jasmine silver needle from Teavana contains large shimmery needles, some broken pieces, and a few dried jasmine blossoms. A three-minute infusion at 79C produced a pale yellow liquor with a touch of green and a touch of peach.
The tea is smooth and delicious and tastes slightly less perfumey than it smells. In fact, it seems a tad closer to a green tea than did the Rishi jasmine silver needles from yesterday. It could be other factors which make this tea seem bettter to me, so I’ll have to do a steep off chez sherapop at some point—once the BNR challenge is through!

I go back and forth about whether I really like this one or just think it’s alright. Sometimes if feels a bit perfumey, especially in comparison to the Harney & Sons Dragon Pearl Jasmine.
Brought the rating down, because I don’t feel like this one is a must restock for me anymore.
Thanks for mentioning the Harney & Sons tea! My boyfriend loves Teavana’s Jasmine Silver Needle, but the price is a bit off putting. It’s great to know he can get twice the amount of the similar tea from Harney & Sons, – even better if it tastes superior!

Glad I could help! The Harney & Sons one is a green/white blend, so it has a bit of a different flavor, but it is very comparable and in my opinion better. I’ll have to check when I get home and see if I have enough to send you a decent sample. If I do, I’d be happy to do so!
Maybe there was artificial flavouring added? If it was from real jasmine flowers it should be very mild and light.
It’s Teavana, so who knows? My sample is gone now, so I’m not going to worry about it.
