Advent day 2! I didn’t like this when it was hot, but now that it has been sitting around for several hours it is better. I can smell an almost fermented orange. Reminds me of the preserved orange peel candy in Asian markets. This has a similar taste with the earthy addition of ginger. It’s not a ginger with any sort of bite, it’s an older ginger. I’m trying to think of nice things to say about this tea. I want to like it, but it isn’t doing it for me.

This tasted similar to some chai blends I’ve had from Tazo and Teavana. I’m finding I’m not a fan of those, which is one minus, and this didn’t really have it’s own character or uniqueness compared to those, which is another minus. I was sort of hoping for something similar to argo tea’s green tea ginger twist iced tea, and it wasn’t even close (even accounting for iced vs. non-iced, and green vs. black tea) On the up side, Tea Gschwender allows you to sample a tea for free when you buy something, and that is how I got this, so I’m not stuck with a tea I won’t drink.

Really fond of this tea for an early afternoon pick-me-up. The orange is a little strong, but the ginger plays well with it.
