So… yeah… this is gone. Man, was it good. Peachy, sweet, smooth, creamy, lightly coconutty. Now I have to work on the Orchid Vanilla so I can have a bigger reason to make a restocking order!

I need to take something like this into work. The hub has an employee appreciation/workshop type thing coming up in May. They are sending employee +guest to Vail for a week. So… I have to be the mingling and socializing spouse. I’ve never had to do this before really. I mean, yeah, at a bar in blue jeans and a nice shirt with drunk people from Missouri. You know – my people. :) But this is international and I know none of the spouses/sig others already. I’m really not a mingling person by nature and I’m certainly not a Vail/Aspen/ski/shop person by nature. I am excited about going but I kind of feel like I need to at least make an effort to not look like a total slob… so I’ve been really trying to be good. Plus, I have to get down in weight if I want to think about riding horses while I’m out there! I wanted Ho-Hos soooo bad today at work. And it’s only the first week of being good – well, better, anyway. :(

I need to take some dessert tea in to help me!

The sachet does have stripes of yellow marigold in it and the leaf looks pretty sizable. A few of the other sachets I’ve had from this collection appeared finer ground. This one steeps up in a nice amber color and smells strongly of peaches. There is a good brulee burnt sugar flavor and I do detect peach in the sips as well. Love it when the flavors match their names! I had expected it to be a very sweet tea but don’t find it that way.

Sipdown 55

Another sipdown from my Tea Forte sampler.

This is strangely lacking in flavor. I’m not tasting peach or anything that vaguely resembles a brûlée. I’m tasting rooibos, so much so that I checked the ingredients to confirm…not seeing it.

Another from TreeGal a while ago!  Thank you!  A single sample that looked so fancy – the package makes it seem so classy and dessert like, so the actual tea was confusing.   I expected a long leaf black, with creamy peach sugar flavor.  Really, it’s like a tart peach, not even a candy peach.  The black tea is finely chopped – very small.  I only see an occasional marigold flower, but upon steeping, I definitely taste some coconut and yep, there it is in the description too.  No idea how old this is now, but I know I have had this sample for at least a year or two.  The description mentions mango flavor?  Not even peach flavor?  I guess it could taste like mango, but then why not call it mango brulee?  It isn’t brulee either.  Just confusing all around.  I didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.  I probably would have been better blindtasting it, than relying on the name to guide me.  Glad to sample, glad it’s gone.  Next morning cold tea tasted like stone fruits on rich black tea — I love next morning cold tea. :D

This is so delicious. I totally get both peach and creme brulee from this. The flavoring is done so well. The black tea tastes a little old, but I got it from a tea box, so that may be the case. So yeah, I absolutely love the flavoring here, but the base isn’t great.

Wow, my tea has none of these lovely flavors everyone is describing! It does have a lovely sort of broiled peach fragrance, but the flavor is really mostly just a faintly fruity, strong black tea. It definitely doesn’t taste like peach. I wonder if I got a top of the barrel (bottom of the barrel?) bag that just didn’t have all the good stuff in it. There definitely doesn’t appear to be much in there that isn’t tea leaves. I don’t DISlike it, but I don’t find anything special about my bag. I’ll reserve numerical judgment in case I just got a funky cup.

I’m extremely impressed with just how accurate Tea Forte is with the name vs taste of their blends. This hits all the expected notes: burnt sugar, stewed peach, sweet/fruity, and custard. I would have liked a bit more vanilla and cream, but overall this blend is very well done. It looks like I’ll be buying some tins of tea from tea forte in the future, as so far most of the samples I’ve tried are teas I NEED more of.

I got this for Christmas in Tea Forte’s Noir sampler. Now, I’m always conflicted about this company. Everything I’ve tried by them has been wonderful. However, to me, they seem really overpriced for the quantity you get. So I only buy something from them every few years. Or if I can find it on sale. It’s a special treat.

About these single-steep pouches, I’d say they’re actually two if you’re using a standard size mug. There’s a little over two teaspoons in each.

Now, this is one incredibly fragrant tea. The peach aroma is sweet, bright, and realistic. Very natural and juicy! As it steeps, calendula petals and pieces of dried fruit rise to the top. As for the flavor, I love it. The brulee aspect is milder than the peach, but still present. It adds a rich layer of creaminess. But it’s definitely subtle, as is the black tea base. It’s only a touch astringent, but it mostly fades into the background. Also, I see this contains coconut too, but I can’t really taste it. That said, this is probably the best peach tea I’ve ever had.

If someone said roasted peach to be before, I wouldn’t know what that smelled like. Smelling this though, that’s the word that comes to mind. There is a sweet scent, but not nauseating. I’m getting my hopes up as this brews because it smells great brewing- I don’t know how to describe it other then like vacation. The initial sip is a gentle sweetness. (of note I don’t like sweet and tea but I like this). There is a definite peach element but not overbearing- gentle. In the end though, I think a bit more complexity of flavor would have been good. Personal preference though since if this had been based on my personal favorite flavor Rose instead, I would be in love.

This started out right on the nose: peach brulee. Peaches, burnt sugar, creamy, vanilla…delicious! Then I realized it reminded of Starbucks’ Blossoming Peach Tea Latte (which I think was out about a year ago), with that kind of artificial peach nerds on whipped cream vibe that’s a little odd but delicious in its own way. Overall, rather tasty. I’ll be sad to see the last bag go.
