From Tea Embassy

Unique and beautiful downy black tea from China’s Yunnan province. Naturally creamy with notes of molasses, chocolate and maple. The appearance is like a black tea version of Bi Lo Chun, or Green Snail Spring with the curly leaf appearance.

I went for a pint of this today with a bowl of cereal (in almond milk) and…more chocolate cake. The stuff looks like but packs quite a wallop still in the caffeine department. It’s a gold-tipped Yunnan hong cha to the core.

Mmmm… this was very good. Definitely a top quality Yunnan.

Thanks Melanie for the sample!

I found this tea to be very good for the mornings. It was advertised as a “golden tea” and I think that’s a fitting title. It’s warm and bold. It has a full body but not too much flavor. I’ve only had it with honey but it seems to compliment it quite nicely.
