From Simpson & Vail

Slay those sniffles with the delicious herbal blend! This tisane brews to a golden amber cup with the delicate aroma of peppermint and herbs. The cup has a balanced flavor with a subdued lemon taste and a mint aftertaste. This blend is easy drinking and soothing.

Ingredients: Organic green rooibos, organic lemon myrtle, organic ginger root, organic tulsi, peppermint and elderflowers.

Wouldn’t you know it…I can count on less than one hand the places other than home I visited during Christmas break…and on the first day back to work, germs from one of those errands caught up with me, causing minor aches, a sore throat, and a whiny disposition. Michelle, I’m glad I saved your Sniffle Slayer sample till it was truly needed!

I’ve been dosing myself with a constant barrage of elderberry tea, zinc lozenges, and ibuprofen for 24 hours, so it will be hard to scientifically isolate the medicinal effects of Sniffle Slayer, but I can affirm that it is tasty. The green rooibos gives a little heft to what would otherwise taste like one of those lemon-mint “spa” blends we discussed recently. Makes it taste like there’s some tea underneath it, even as clugged-up (that’s one notch more than clogged) as I am.

Oh goodness, hope you feel better so soon!

Michelle

Hmmm, I’m not feeling so hot either (even a cup of caramel buttercup has not improved my mood) so I’ll go dig this one out and have a cuppa.

Take care!

Feel Better soon!

ashmanra

Hope you are feeling better soon! My daughter is a bit down with a cold right now, too.

Maybe a smidge better. I needed to schedule a “get seen for an RX” appointment anyway, so I just booked one for Monday. Covered either way!

Advent Tea: Day 2 from Michelle
This one was perfectly timed because everyone else in my household has been sick for the past week. My immune system definitely feels like it’s taken a hit but I still don’t have any cold symptoms. (knock on wood) Based on the ingredients I imagine that this would be a soothing tea to drink while sick or even when not. I don’t think you can compare it to Cold 911 though for example. I added a bit of honey to my cup of this one. It has a lovely lemon flavor which is interesting because it is described as having a “subdued lemon flavor”. The lemon on the green rooibos base with a little honey added to the cup makes it more dessert-like. I couldn’t pick out the ginger or the other ingredients really but I have enough for another cup to try and do that. Thanks, Michelle! I can already see a Simpson & Vail order sometime in my future after many sipdowns.

This is the one I have sipped the most and will be included in my next order after many sipdowns (sooo much tea!)

I’d definitely order more of this. The struggle between wanting to reorder favorites and needing to sip down our current tea stash.

S&V is my favorite company, but I’ve somehow never ordered this one! I guess I need to!

When I first tried to review this tea Steepster glitched and logged me out. This review is not off to a good start. This seemed the perfect tea to drink about now because I seem to be coming down with a cold of some sort. I doubt this will do much for a cold but it can’t hurt. This is a fairly nice blend of ingredients. The base of the green rooibos is not the first flavor I notice. The main note to this seems to be lemon from the lemon myrtle. The peppermint is also present. Overall this is a nice herbal tea.

I brewed this one time in a Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 5 minutes.
