2010 Ronzhen Reserve Ripe 357g
Every year I paid a few visits to Ronzhen teas for their no frills, yet above average teas. In 2010 Fall I found this cake hidden behind the counter as their reserve. They had selected the best ripen materials they had made so far, made them into this superb Pu-erh tea cake, as a reserve for a closed circle, not for open market.

Wet leaves smell of stewed prunes. Yum
Very smooth, sweet like dark chocolate, no earthiness . Brew very dark and clear. I placed an order last week and I regret that I didn’t include it. Next purchase for sure.

It is. Now I just start worrying about storage of all the pu I have. My small collection keeps growing every day ;)

I can taste the notes of prunes that a previous reviewer gave this tea. It is decent but not incredible. It has a decent depth of flavor but does not stand out as the best. I brewed this tea for 20 sec with 13g leaves in a 10 oz tea mug. I might buy it again. It would not have been worth a lot of money but is good for the price.
