From Rare Tea Company

This Chinese Oolong Loose Leaf Tea is known as the Iron Goddess of Mercy (Tieguanyin or Tie Guan Yin). Crafted to an exact point at which the leaves reveal their hidden subtleties.

Tasting Notes
The first infusion has a succulent sweetness with later infusions leading to green floral notes. Each time you infuse the leaves different subtleties are revealed.

This is a SPECTACULAR Oolong. The liquor is a beautiful golden color.

The flavor is smooth and rich and sweet. fruity and floral. Loving it and looking forward to many more infusions to follow.

This may be almost (if not just) as good as my beloved Ali Shan from Norbu!

Another sampler and another tea that has been awarded for good taste.

Leaves smell like really fresh grass. Nice dark green color.

Tea is dark yellow and smells really nice.
It’s very good. Gotta wait a bit to define it cuz i had sheep cheese for dinner and it’s kinda still there on my taste buds.

Well to me it tastes similar to Dragon Well. But bit better. Easier to drink. This is best oolong I’ve had so far. The oolong tastes starts then it ends with that dragon well taste. Awesome combo.

Oh idk I just like it…

I did 3 steeps – just as good. Its a multi-steep tea ;)

Special thanks to LiberTEAS for this tea sample! :)

This is good.

It smells more vegetal than it tastes but the taste is even and pleasant. It has a bit of a celery-like finish and aftertaste. I’m thinking i could get multiple infusions but I have SO MUCH new tea to try that I think I will move on. I do have enough for another cup after this so I might try it again down the road.

Oolong is a breathtaking tea. The taste is so unique. The tea itself is in between black and green tea in the oxidation process. I have had the recent pleasure of trying this particular Oolong and I must say its unreal. Its perfect. It has a sweet vegetal flavor. Drinking a cup of this fantastic tea will have you feeling very satisfied. Great job Rare Tea Company. Thank you for believing in quality over quantity. Thats what we believe at Pure Matcha as well.

My mum-in-law gave this to me for Christmas, and I apologize to you tea because I have been on a Japanese tea kick for the past year. Good news is I haven’t opened it yet

Dry aroma: Hmmm, I’m not sensing the usual notes. Perhaps it’s the packaging? I know it’s not because of where it is stored. I’m taking it out of the bag and adding a desiccant pack in to see if it reveals something better tomorrow.
Dry Appearance: Tightly rolled into balls. Mix of dark and light greens.

Quickly rinse with boiling water. Then 10 second infusion.
Flavor: Mineral. Wet rocks. Granite. Floral. Vibrant greens and tropical floral notes.
I can definitely tell my palate for oolongs has lessened with my insatiable appetite for Japanese greens. But I do love oolongs, so I want to get it back.
Wet Leaf aroma: A bit vegetal with hints of butter and slightly sweetened water.
It’s good but just not as good as I was hoping. Will try again tomorrow after the bag aroma has dissipated.
