I loved this tea. It has a great nutty flavor. It is wonderful.

My favorite among the (few) unflavored greens I’ve tasted so far. Slightly smoky and nutty, it produces a rich and comforting cup. I’m a cardiac patient on a low-caffeine diet, so I appreciate the miniscule amount of caffeine in this medium-bodied brew. I could drink this one every day.

Kitchen cleanout, fresh but low quantity remaining so it’s gotta go.

Smells nice and toasty-nutty-seaweed. That all fades into something lighter and salty-mineral when I take a sip. I’m noticing that while there isn’t really an aftertaste, the aromatics do continue to kind of build in my mouth and some caramel becomes noticeable in that ether. I have my favorite loose hojicha but this isn’t too bad for bagged tea. It was a nice lead-in to this toasted croissant with the rose petal preserves we picked up from the new Mediterranean store in town.

Housemate, who I made a cup for, says “Oh glob, that’s good tea.” slurrrrrp

Another Mighty Leaf that I’m approaching for the second time. The first time I tried this one, I couldn’t finish the cup. Possibly I had the water too hot, or gave it too long. Either way, it was uck. I had a better time with it today — it’s quite a heavy, dark, earthy flavoured green. It’s not bitter or astringent, though, just strongly flavoured. It’s almost slightly salty, which is a little unexpected — it reminds me of seawater! Potentially that’s because I can also taste seaweed. That’s the closest descriptor I have for the flavour I’m getting from this one. It’s not sweet or vegetal like some greens, it’s slightly nutty, roasty, with a definite “green” flavour — seaweed is the closest I can come.

Not a favourite of mine, but then hojicha in general never has been. I appreciated the difference between this one and some of the other greens I’m drinking at the moment — it was a bit of a palate refresher if nothing else! I’ll happily drink up the rest of my bags, but it’s not one I’d seek our again.

I had this at a conference in Austin, as Hojicha from a bag goes, it wasn’t bad, I have had better but it made my day during a long meeting. Its a good mid-grade tea roasted green tea. I enjoy Hojicha for those days I want something between a green and and a black, its smooth enough to make a nice daily tea.

Strictly speaking, the company needs to research for the better roasting of green tea. Not perfect, but this tea is delicate enough. Hoji tea is a kind of daily tea for me, and the Organic Hoji in Mighty leaf shows the good performance and give me the enough pleasure for anytime I brew it. Recommend it to people who need the light, but intimate daily friend. Some dust are in a tea cup but it doesn’t matter.

Tastes kind of seaweedy. I like seaweed in my sushi, but I guess not in green tea.
