Raspberry Cream

Mastress Alita’s sipdown challenge – March Tea #2:  A tea flavored like your favorite pancake/waffle topping

I love berries on pancakes and raspberries are my favorite berry.  A sad sipdown – I highly doubt the flavor would be identical in any new batches of this… teas just can’t do ‘cream’ flavor like they used to when this tea was fresh.. I think because of the trend of more “natural” flavors… eh, I just want flavor to taste okay.  But this is all my guesswork!  I don’t actually know what a new batch tastes like.   I enjoyed this one though!  Raspberry!  Cream!  I’ll miss it but it was time for this to GO. According to Steepster, there aren’t many Raspberry Cream teas. I think I would have to rely on 52Teas for one…

So this wasn’t too bad. Those of you who are on a quest for natural tasting raspberry probably won’t find what you are looking for here but if you just want a decently strong black base with a fairly strong raspberry flavor, this is it.

I love raspberries. I am usually not a fan of it in teas. It almost always ends up being too tart. I think the cream flavor balances out the tart in this blend pretty well.

I made the mistake of taking a bite of really sweet marionberry greek yogurt in the middle of this first cup. So what tasted sweet and berry on the first few sips turned rather bland afterward in comparison (because I am very sensitive to contaminating flavours like that). But I really enjoyed the first couple of sips and I’m going to hold off rating this until I have a real idea of how it tastes normally. Also I put too much milk in because it’s all the way in the break room and that’s a long way to walk and I don’t judge milk in an empty mug very well.

In other news, I hate everything.
