February Sipdown Prompt – National Latte Day! Drink a latte!

I am shocked to see I haven’t made a note of this tea, as it is half gone. I made this in traditional whisked fashion for Superanna to try last November, and while she was satisfied with it, I definitely was not. She likes things that are spicy, things with bite, things that are tart…and I don’t. It was good news for her that this one is cheaper and will suit her taste prepared either way, but for me it is a latte only matcha. It is better than culinary matcha but I have enjoyed their ceremonial matcha too much to turn back.

I made two lattes, one for me and one for Ashman. He says it was yummy. I say…it was yummy. With the addition of milk and sugar, this matcha is more than adequate to fill my latte needs and keeps the good (meaning – expensive) stuff reserved for my favorite matcha bowl and the whisk.

We guzzled it down. Double yum.

I almost always drink matcha as a latte, even though I can appreciate it prepared traditionally, it’s just not something I ever crave. Love it slightly sweetened with maple syrup!

I did sweeten my hojicha latte with maple syrup but I haven’t tried it with matcha – yet! Will do hopefully soon. I think Superanna has it both ways equally? She doesn’t whisk, but just a cup of green tea basically with matcha, lightly whisked with a fork. She does love lattes, too, though. I am giving her a pouch of Birthday Cake matcha from 3 Leaf on Sunday. Hoping she really likes it!

Ooh yes, that one makes a delicious latte for sure! I always make my matcha lattes iced so sugar doesn’t dissolve very well. That’s why I started using maple syrup, but I ended up liking it even better. :)
