Oolong tea is often called “the champaigne of teas” because of the special care required to make and the range of wonderful oolong flavors. This medium-fired Ti Kwan Yin (“Iron Goddess”) is made from mature tea leaves that are expertly fermented in rotating natural bamboo drums, then oven-cured to perfection.

This tea must REALLY suck, because I find it sucky even when drunk.

End o’ story.
I have been drinking this tea for twenty years. It’s probably my “house tea”. Here’s a lesson I learned years ago sampling and drinking tea in SF’s China Town. Buy the higher grade. You can buy loose tea at $20 a pound or at $60-80 a pound. I can get multiple cups off the higher grade so on a unit cost basis it’s cheaper than using $20 tea. I drink a lot of Chinese teas, but now and then I’ll have cup of licorice tea to settle the stomach. I also like gunpowder tea, and there’s a very common variety of tea that comes in a molded ball form (can’t remember the name at the moment). It’s a good anti-cancer tea. I used to get it in China Town for a $1 a piece, and they give you a baker’s dozen for $12.
I hate that so much!!
