Strawberry Sundae

Sipdown! A pleasant enough black, but really only retains flavor through one infusion. Perfectly good, a bit creamy, but nothing special.

So I’ve had a very long work week and decided to take this in my mug today. This is probably one of my new favorites. It’s soooooooo good. It’s creamy, chocolatey, and the strawberries is delicious. It’s more of the strawberries syrup more than actual strawberries but it’s still amazing. Mmmmmmm

OK, this really does taste like melted strawberry ice cream…or what I remember of my childhood treat, considering I can’t eat ice cream anymore.

The strawberry is a terrific punch of flavor, and I enjoy the ice cream flavoring. There is a funny aftertaste, which reminds me of freezer burn – you know, that sticky stuff that forms on older-freezed goods? Apropos, but kind of icky.

The ingredients list chocolate but I don’t really taste it. Maybe that’s the after taste? IDK…

I’d love to try this iced, especially with these infused ice-cubes. I did that once for Swampwater, and once for Strawberry Lemonade (Teavana) and it rocked!

This really does taste like strawberry ice cream… which I don’t actually like eating. However, in tea form, it’s quite delicious.

Della Terra’s black base doesn’t work for me so often, and I think that’s really the only issue I have with this tea. If I want a strawberry dessert tea, I’d rather reach for Strawberry Cupcake from Simpson & Vail… but I have a 1/2 oz coming to me from Della Terra next week, and I don’t think I’ll have a problem drinking that.

Yep, another Della Terra sample. I swear there are only a couple left around here I haven’t tried. I have no idea why I bought this one, since I have the chocolate strawberry. BUT if I am remembering right, I think I like this one more. It has an ICE CREAM flavor to it. At some point I tried some astronaut ice cream (freeze dried) and if that isn’t what is here, then there should be some tea blends that use a ton of freeze dried ice cream. I think this blend is an equal balance: black tea, ice cream, strawberry, chocolate. Nothing out shines the other ingredients. I wish the root beer float had this much ice cream flavor. I love this one!

soooo this isn’t to my liking. It’s not a bad tes exactly but it’s got that same (albeit slightly less so) della terra chocolate flavour to it that i dislike. Is this strawberry sundae though? Yeah, i can agree with that. However, the taste isn’t nearly as strawberry as i like it, and with the chocolate it reminds me more of what i wish their chocolate covered strawberry tea was like. Happy to have tried it, but glad this was a sample pack split. :)

I was hesitant with this one because I usually don’t like fruit teas hot. This definitely is an exception! I have found out with this traveling box that I like creamy fruit dessert teas! This tea reminds me of those sundae cups you can buy from the ice cream man or the grocery store with the wooden spoons and either the chocolate fudge stripes or the strawberry syrup stripes! Those were my favorite and probably still are to this day except that I haven’t had one in years…. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm. This box of teas has definitely brought me back down memory lane. Reminding me of the good memories I did have as a child, while very few and small, they were still the good ones:) I love that this captured all the aspects of a sundae to the dot! I used to like to let my sundae cups melt a little and then mix it all together and then eat it, but if I was impatient I would just scrape the syrupy parts and eat those first :) overall I really really enjoyed this one. I took it with me to do a little Christmas shopping. So to whoever added this one, thank you for taking me down, yet another wonderful stroll amongst memory lane:) A creamy strawberry cup:) oh so scrumptious that is getting added straight to my shopping list to sit in my dessert tea stash crate for nights I crave what I don’t have:)

Tea #4 from Another Traveling Tea Box

Dry this smells kinda like that astronaut strawberry ice cream I remember having once. Vaguely almost stale, but with a definite creamy strawberry scent.
The brew has the same creamy strawberry smell and the first straight taste is definitely strawberry, though I’m not so much getting any ice cream/sundae feel. After I added some truvia, the sweetness brought out that sundae taste and feel, just in a hot liquid form which was a bit strange. Reminded me of my experience with DavidsTea Cookie Dough – it tastes like it’s named for, but the execution is hard for my brain to wrap around.

I might be tempted to get this in the next try-me sampler I get from Della Terra just so I have some on hand when I want something creamy and strawberry tasting. But it’s not one I’d have around for a staple in my cupboard.

This is pretty good! The fragrance really lingers in the air; the entire breakfast nook and kitchen smells of sweet chocolate and cream. This is definitely not fresh strawberry but strawberry like you find in the palest pink ice cream for kids, you know? But the cream and chocolate and fakish strawberry is comforting. Very sweet smell. I bet my husband’s gonna be all over this one…

There’s definitely an ice cream flavour here and a strawberry flavour as well. The black base I’m not really loving, as happens with a lot of Della Terra’s black teas.
