From DAVIDsTEA

One morning, we found this tea nestled in our favourite pear tree. It was fresh, delicate and still dewy from last night’s rain. So we took it out into the warm sunlight and waited until it grew deliciously plump and juicy. And once that fruity aroma kicked in, we knew it was ripe for the picking. Ready to get a taste? This mouthwatering infusion balances the sweetness of Anjou pears with papaya, pineapple and a floral kiss of sunflower blossom. Refreshing hot, iced and all year round, it’s pure pear-fection.

ingredients

Pear, apple (apple, citric acid), candied papaya (papaya, su gar), candied pineapple (pineapple, sugar), rosehip peel, sunflower blossoms, stevia extract, natural pear and peach flavouring.

Price per 50g: $7.98

Sipdown

Stevia but less stevia than usual. Fake peach though. Oh well. It’s caffeine free and I still can’t taste anything really so might as well use up the bad stuff :P

Gah! Why do they do that!

Arby

After their straight teas came out, I was really hoping to see more blends without milk/white chocolate/marshmallows, stevia, and that sort of thing in it. I just want some tasty rooibos blends with normal ingredients in it.

VariaTEA

I dont mind the white chocolate or marshmallows or stuff like that because they’re flavors and you can choose whether that’s something you enjoy or not. Stevia is different because it is a sweetener and basically just disgusting.

They did a nice job with this tea as it tastes like biting into a fresh pear-minus the gritty texture. Tried it iced.

Adventageddon Day 18

This is a tea I am quite familiar with and though I would normally prefer to drink this tea iced or cold brewed it was too chilly for that today, so I had it hot instead. This tea will probably never dethrown Cranberry Pear, which is my all-time favourite blend from DT (and probably my favourite pear tea of all time), but I was actually surprised how much I loved this cup. I don’t even know when the last time I had it hot was, but I was glad I’d switched things up so that I got to re-experience it!

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

I also purchased this today while out mug shopping. I had not expected to buy any tea leaf while I was there, but I couldn’t pass this up after smelling the sniffer in store. While I will admit, the aroma wasn’t what sold me on the tea, it was the idea of a warm pear drink.

Dried the scent comes across as artificial with hints of candied papaya. Brewed the liquid is a clear yellow with a sweet cider aroma. I am now half way through the tea and have picked up on several flavours that enjoy dancing across my taste buds; it first started off as sweet papaya mixed with tropical fruits, later I started to picking up the pear and hints of peach.
