This is a very, veeeerrryyyyy old tea that I forgot I owned. However, I do really like to make a mug of mate or guayusa when I really need to focus on a project so I decided to make a cup. The taste was okay, with an intensely potent note of guarana accented by a jammy, bordering on medicinal cassis/black currant flavour. I was shocked how flavourful this still was given the age. It’s so much like redbull, so not really a favourite but I also don’t dislike it terribly either.
But the smell. Oh, the smell. It’s STRONG. Like concentrated red bull essence wafting out of a mug. My whole office smelled like it for hours after I’d finished drinking the cup.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
