Guangzhou Milk Oolong

This tea is smooth, creamy and has a rich butter taste. The leaves are nice and shiny after steeping. i love it.

This doesn’t taste the same, from what I remember. I must have the ‘added flavour’ version. meh. Fortunately I only have a couple of cup’s worth left. Once it’s gone, it won’t be coming back. At least not in my cupboard.

I have deleted my rating since after some searching, and after attempting to rebrew, I realized this is FLAVORED with milk flavoring. I looked on the website of DavidsTea, and looked at the ingredients, and saw this:

Chinese oolong tea from the Wuyi Mountains, natural flavouring*.

I noticed I couldn’t rebrew it while the flavors improved. For the cost, I expected a better quality. I’ve only had one other milk oolong before, and had amazing 8 rebrews from it, each one pumped with creamy flavor. Not with this “milk” oolong.

I DO NOT recommend this tea, as it’s a fake, and not worth the price.

I am very sorry to say that my once absolutely favorite tea is now undrinkable (to me). The last time that I bought this, there were no flavorings. Now, they have added “natural flavorings” that smell and taste awful. Fortunately, DavidsTea’s customer service is amazing and I was able to bring this back to the store and trade for something without flavorings. The Pouchong Ooolong is pretty good.

A friend sent me a sample of this, so I’ve only had a few cups, but it’s very lovely.

Yummy! More floral than the puriTeas version and not quite as sweet but still good and holds up multiple steeps. Definitely like this may have to get some more

My first loose leaf tea. First steep is quite good. Even after drinking it, my cereal tastes better as a result of the aftertaste. The milk portion of the name is no joke. It compliments milk very well.

Second steep tastes similar. Slightly nuttier.

I don’t like it!

Too much butteriness, too much like a cup of watery milk, and too vegetal for me. It all combined to taste kind of like spinach with butter, as others have mentioned. I just really found it to be..too much. I’m glad I just got a cup of this to go, rather than buying some to brew myself, because I couldn’t even finish it. I started to get a headache and feel nauseous about half way through.

I can understand why people would love this, but it’s definitely not for me. I’d still like to try other milk oolongs eventually, but this particular one was not for me.

Okay guys, this is definitely my go-to, keep constantly restocked, favourite oolong tea in my cupboard.

It is the perfect tea if you like medium strong teas because it is the perfect amount of creamy and smooth, but it is not overwhelming at all with a very slight floral note. It’s a nice tea to drink at any time of the day, because it is heavy enough for a morning tea, and light enough as an afternoon tea as well. I love it.

I highly recommend making this tea in a teapot to allow the leaves to fully unfurl and get the most out of its depth of flavour. I also use less than the recommended amount per 8oz of water because of how much this tea delivers once the leaves unfurl. My favourite part of this tea is how it tastes better with each steep. But doesn’t fail at all to deliver on the first steep, either. The 2nd to 5th steep are its strong points, and my favourites because you can really taste the creaminess of this tea.

This is a tea I love having when I’m looking to just sit and relax, and enjoy a simple tea.
