From Culinary Teas

The best Assam we have tasted. This tea from the Gingia Estate has a golden liquor with a classic thickness. Juicy and deliciously malty. Extraordinary well graded (TGFOP).

I love this tea with ginger! I cut up fresh ginger and let it boil in hot water for a few minutes then added this tea. Delicious! I also added some sugar since this tea became too bitter to drink alone. My husband liked the tea, which is great! He loves ginger tea.

So far my favorite Assam yet.

Visually this tea is mostly black twisty leaves with a few golden threads mixed in. The smell when dry is smokey, and when wet slightly vegetal. I brewed this for three minutes and found the unsweetened flavor okay with just a hint of maltiness. I like my Assam’s to slap me in the face with malt and this did not. A perfectly decent breakfast tea when sugar and milk are added.
