From Clipper

Organic double mint & fennel infusion. Perfect post pudding.
The cool, menthol taste of peppermint combines superbly with the natural sweetness of spearmint and the subtle, spicy body of fennel and ginger to provide a truly delicious and refreshing 100% organic infusion. Perfect for after-dinner.

Ingredients: Peppermint* (54%), Fennel Seed* (20%), Spearmint* (18%), Ginger Root*. *Organically grown ingredient

This is how we do it: always use fresh water, pour it over the tea bag while it’s still boiling and allow to brew for 3-5 minutes. The rest is up to you.

Had a little too much to eat at Easter dinner (postponed until today because we helped my sister-in-law move into her new house), so I wanted something to help settle my tummy. This seemed like the most suitable tea in my possession.

I’m not super keen on this. I like mint and fennel most of the time, and you can definitely taste both, but I can’t help thinking that the flavor suffered because it’s a bagged supermarket tea rather than a loose blend you’d get from a tea shop. My stomach does feel better than it did before, so that’s got to count for something.

I tried this tea 45 minutes after my dinner to freshen my breath and see if this tea lives up to it’s name.

Colour: Brown with a golden glow.
Smell: Super minty.

Taste: This tea is strong and refreshingly minty and is definitely not for those that like subtle flavours. It’s certainly strong enough to freshen the breath after any meal and is also said to help aid digestion. The two mints combined (spearmint and peppermint) leave a full on cool minty menthol tango on the tongue that slips down easily.

If you love mint as much as I do then this tea is for you. :)

April Sipdown Alphabet Challenge: “A” Tea
I really love the idea of this challenge it’s a great way to work my way through my cupboard of teas. I chose this one since I’ve been holding on to the last teabag of it and I don’t really need to? I also wanted something caffeine-free tonight after finishing a paper for class. It’s just a really nice nighttime bagged tea.

I have a little nostalgic love for Clipper since I first got it in the UK while I was visiting my now-husband for the first or second time. I had just started drinking green tea and Clipper made the first bagged green that wasn’t astringent. It was bright and green and I drank tons of it. So when a whole line of Clipper showed up at my Target I basically raked my arm across the shelf and brought all the boxes home.

It’s called After Dinner Mints! I like mint tea, I like After Eights, I like York Peppermint Patties, I like Junior Mints. This is peppermint, spearmint, and interestingly, fennel.

This of course makes sense because fennel is good for digestion so that makes this review sort of split.

As a mint tea, its not my favorite. Fennel adds this herb-y sad savory flavor to my beautiful sweet minty candy tea. It’s like licorice or something. Sad face. Vegetables.

But as an after dinner tea as it’s marketed, great! Spearmint, peppermint, and fennel are a great way to settle your stomach after dinner. It’s an excellent choice. Also fennel is supposed to be good for PMS symptoms so another great reason to get it.

Overall good but not for the reasons I bought it for. Pleased with it though! Clipper always does me right.

I like fennel but not always a fan of mint tea. Not sure how I would feel about this one but if it works as an after dinner tummy soother it might be a win.

Superanna

If we could separate the two from a single cup of tea we could both be happy!

I’m not sure if I got a bad batch, but this was not nearly as minty as I was hoping. I bought this because the box made it seem as if it would be the strongest mint flavor. It boasts of being “double mint,” so I was very disappointed when I tried it and it was even less minty than the typical mint tea. “Magic Mint” by Celestial Seasonings is still the mintiest tea I own. I was hoping this one would be even mintier, and really wanted the spearmint to come out in it as well. I would recommend this tea to anyone who likes a regular mint flavor, but if you’re looking for “altoid-level” mint, skip it.

A different taste for a mint tea that is not bad at all, is not my kind of tea but I’ve to say that it’s just a different way to drink a mint tea if you have ever try a peppermint tea.

So, I totally thought I’d be safe drinking tea with my seafood allergy, so I usually don’t make a huge point to mention it in swaps. I know there are fishy pu-er out there, but it’s not actually because there is fish in it (duh). Because seriously, who puts fish in tea?

Bigelow, that’s who.

I did a tea swap (off of Steepster) and received 3 bags of Pomegranate Blueberry Herb Plus tea, which has added Omega 3. The Omega 3 is from a natural blend of oils, including tuna oil.

So, after very nearly brewing myself up a cup of potentially dangerous tea, I decided to have this. I know better than to not mention that allergy now, though.

In any case, this tea is definitely very minty, and the spearmint/peppermint blend is a satisfying cooling menthol sensation. The fennel adds a bit of licorice-like sweetness, that I thought really complimented the blend.

This is definitely not as offensive (read: toothpaste-like) as a lot of other bagged mint blends I’ve had.

Yes! Definitely kind of a scary incident

Whoa! I had a Teavana tea that tasted fishy yesterday. Now I wonder if they added omega to it. It is kind of baffling that anyone would want to add fish to tea. Glad you escaped the cup o death! How did you figure out it was in there? Did it smell funny?
