Summer Cherry Fig

Not sure how I missed logging this. I’ve had it several times.

I like this one a lot. I can taste the fig and the cherry both. Admittedly, the tea base takes a back seat. Nevertheless, the base is smooth and non-astringent. Smells wonderful.

It makes an excellent infusion for mousse and probably would make a good infusion for ice cream or creme brulee.

sipdown! yes…from nicole again haha. I am really digging this one today! I think part of why this is so enjoyable is that it doesn’t taste like that artificial cherry taste that i’ve come to expect in most cherry teas. It also smells so yummy! I’m not great at picking out “fig” in anything but there is another taste that i’ll have to assume is the fig. The black base is mostly in the background of this tea, but that’s no issue for me because the flavours are so tasty! thanks nicole!

This is… pretty bitter! I think I steeped it right but ‘right’ might not always mean ‘according to my tastes’. I am not sure about a summer cherry fig part, even if there are some fruity notes, they are burried deep under the kind of bitter of unsweetened cocoa powder (minus the chocolate part of it) – if that makes any sense.

However, as it cools down, the cherry comes out more, and then it is slightly reminiscent of Lupicia’s Sakurambo – but I don’t think nearly as good. It is an okay tea, probably a little bit less steeping would do it good, but it is not something I would jump at buying.

This one smells so good! I definitely smell both cherries and figs; mom says it smells like fruit wine and I have to agree. I hope the taste of this lives up to the name, because I love both cherries and figs and good fruit teas are one of my favorite kinds.

On to the taste: this is so, so good. I’m going to have to get it. The cherry note is sweet and strong, and then the fig comes in later. The fig is subtle but definitely still there, and both fruits taste natural. This is a full-bodied cup, probably more so than any of my other favorites, but I love it. It’s great for a cold day like today, but I think it would stand up to ice too! Thank you, Nicole!

Thanks to Nicole again for this one! This tea smells very good today. Cherry teas can be a bit tricky for companies to pull off, but this one smells a lot more subdued than others that I’ve tried (which is probably for the better). I’ve never had anything from Capital Teas, so here’s a first!
This tea was very inviting. It had very subtle cherry notes and warm, almost spice notes too. I really enjoyed this one!

I love figs and have been drinking Fig Rose from Teavana. I got this sample of Summer Cherry Fig so I decided to compare them. One obvious difference … Summer Cherry Fig is a black tea and Fig Rose is an herbal. The aroma of Summer Cherry Fig leaves is mildly fig with a black tea background . Fig Rose jumps right out at you. This tisane has big chunks of everything and is quite lovely. After brewing the Summer Cherry Fig has a mild fig aroma and taste. It’s not a bad cup especially if I want a some caffeine. I would still choose the Fig rose for most times because it has more flavor and is so soothing.
Back to my earlier mention of my finger. Yes, it is broken. I spent a while at the Urgent Care Center. It is a simple fracture so they didn’t have to do any surgery. My index finger is buddy splinted to the middle finger. I will have to switch my tea drinking to my left hand and I hope I don’t spill too much. It looks like it will be splinted for 4 weeks. :( I may get out of some chores like washing dishes and I plan on milking this for all its worth. ;-D
