Had a good experience short steeping this today, got up to 9 steeps. I was a bit surprised because the tea is comprised of broken leaves and I don’t always get performance out of those. It tasted very smooth, smoky, woody, and buttery throughout all the steeps.
On a final note I’d just like to mention that I usually love LS, so I’m not sure I would recommend this to those that dislike smoky teas. It is definitely not nasty and tarry, but I’ve also tried better (and more expensive) “authentic” LS.
100ml purion teapot, 2 tsp, 9 steeps (3s, +3s resteeps)
edit: if anyone’s curious, the smoky flavour didn’t stay in the purion after a quick rinse for my next tea

I’ve noticed the extreme slowness too. I really thought this site was so cool when it was in its prime. I hate that it’s now on the back burner.

For a long time (like, many months) Twitter had the same problem with photos not uploading.
Been using this tea a blend-making tea, just realized that I haven’t tried this on it’s own! I’ve made myself some smoked early grey, smoky vanilla black, and am plotting making a chai with this tea as well. I’m a huge smoky fan, so it’s very satisfying to have an everyday LS to mix with other teas.
On it’s own it’s fine. It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it is a good base tea. The chopped leaves have longevity while steeping, and the BBQ smokiness is complimented by a lingering sweetness. It’s a great, blendable tea!
That sounds awesome I think I’ll have to add this one to my shopping list.
It’s a pretty standard LS if you like that sort of thing.
